This is an easy hike to visit a nature reserve close to Salento. Will visit an historical bridge called "La explanación". Hiking along the nature we will learn about the birds while heading to the Quindio.

Our tour will teach you where to find and how to ID different bird species. You'll also learn to use birding tools like the eBird & Merlin apps to document your sightings and deepen your knowledge.

Boquia

we set off to Boquia Hamlet at 1.790 m.a.s.l. The hike starts heading to the bridge "La Explanación" where the Boquia creek passes. We will walk along the forest that belongs to a nature reserve of the civil society, full of butterflies, dragonflies, beetles, flowers and birds. The main activity we will do is the birding and hiking.

Wonderful 3 hour walk with Jorge who was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and friendly. We saw 37 species including an Amazon Kingfisher and Andean Motmot.
