It is a long trip, but the stop at the two small villages before Salzburg made it worthwhile. Stopping at these places were the highlight, albeit the stay was only 15 minutes. Salzburg was extremely crowded. It was good had adequate time to navigate the place including visiting the Xmas markets—hundreds of stalls. A last comment on our driver who was friendly and more importantly a safe driver. We also had a guided tour of Salzburg. I recommend this tour for those wanting a more intimate experience.

Very scenic, Marco - driver and guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. Elisabeth - local guide in Salzburg was also very knowledgeable. The only other feedback we'd offer is to remind the traveler that it's a very long day and dining will be 'out of sorts '.

Peter and Julia were exceptional guides with rich stories and colourful facts that made the day’s excursion one for the memories. Lunch at the “oldest” restaurant in world was outstanding too.

Great trip! It was nice to have free time to roam on our own after the guided tour. Salzburg is definitely worth the experience.

If you’re considering a hassle-free and absolutely lovely day trip to Salzburg, we HIGHLY recommend this tour!! White Alligator Tours was extremely easy to work with (Kevin answered every question thoroughly and promptly!). Our driver, Marco, was kind and extremely knowledgeable ~ also a very responsible and safe driver, which was appreciated by the moms in the car! Our Salzburg guide, Peter, was fun and vivacious ~ full of great recommendations (lunch was delicious!) and facts about the city of Salzburg, as well as the Sound of Music… He’s a fabulous singer and treated us to lots of little bits from the movie!! One piece to note about this day trip is that even though it leaves early in the morning, there’s a little stop at a gorgeous place for a breakfast/brunch treat on the way ~ so no need to rush too much in the morning! All in all, we were away from Vienna from 6:45 a.m to 8:00 p.m. and had the best day ever!

This was a wonderful and seamless experience from start to finish! Roman, our guide and driver, was prompt, professional, and incredibly thoughtful. He kept us well-informed throughout the drive, sharing interesting commentary on the towns and scenery we passed, and made sure everyone felt comfortable and taken care of. I especially appreciated that he timed each stop just right — never rushed, always interesting. He even offered to take pictures for us, which turned out great! In Salzburg, we met our guide for the city, Gabi, who was equally fantastic. She was so friendly and knowledgeable, guiding us through the charming streets and sharing tons of interesting facts. She made sure we were clear on where and when to meet, and offered great recommendations for our free time. We decided to take the funicular up to the fortress, and the views were absolutely spectacular. It is a long day, but it’s incredibly well-paced, with lots of opportunities to relax and enjoy the journey. We felt comfortable the entire time and came away with great memories. Highly recommend this tour if you want a taste of Salzburg without the stress of figuring it all out yourself!
