With a mix of cultural influences on the nation's cuisine, it's no wonder that Malaysian food is a lip-smackingly complex beast.
We'll meet in the old district of Chow Kit and Kampung Baru, one of the last remaining districts that is yet to be developed into glassy high rises.
Don't expect other foreigners. Stroll in this local neighbourhood of nightly street eats, sampling a variety of 15+ tastings, carefully curated for their culinary history.
The flavours change across the year, but highlights include the fragrant bowls of laksa, hand stretched rotis, nasi lemak with piquant sambal and herbal chicken rendang, charcoal-grilled mackerel, and soothing iced cendol with custard-like durian. We'll end with a fine view of the mighty Petronas Twin Towers.
I'm sure you have a lot of your plate, but here's some food for thought. While it's possible to attempt such a culinary marathon yourself, you'd be one sandwich short of a Malaysian picnic not to join me on our moveable food feast.

Sam was fantastic. We have gone through about 15 dishes and Sam was giving information about them all the time. It was an amazing experience, a must if you are visiting KL.

Nadia was a fantastic guide in every respect. She genuinely seemed to enjoy her time with us and cared about making sure everyone had a great experience. I've gone in many food tasting tours and this was amongst the best. Only two warnings (and they're both positives): come hungry (there's a lot of food to taste) and block out the evening.

We had a wonderful evening with Nadia as our guide and 2 fellow travellers. Nadia had wonderful bubbly personality and lots of food and local knowledge. Lots of food - come hungry - and a wide selection suitable for most. Would highly recommend this tour.

Disha and Sean led us through an amazing night filled with delicious food, local history and customs, and showed us the sights, smells and sounds of KL. The food chosen was excellent and diverse, and incredibly generous portions and variety on offer. Our guides were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and helped foster a great environment to try all the amazing foods on offer. Definitely the highlight of our trip to KL so far, and would strongly recommend anyone interested in food and culture!

The best food tour we have ever done! Our guide was Kiran and wow, what a guide she was! So incredibly knowledgeable and shared so much history with us. I hugely appreciated Kieran’s approach to hygiene and cleanliness, ensuring all cutlery and plates were super clean before we ate. We tried about 16 dishes in total, and learned about each on the way. Kiran was so incredibly kind, and funny and we had the absolute best time with her! Would highly highly recommend this tour.

A fantastic way to sample a variety of dishes and cuisines. Kiran was a fabulous host , took time to explain history and the cultural influences. Very easy walk and a good way to get bearings of the city. A LOT of food. I would recommend sharing dishes early in the piece and pace yourself with fluid intake. All the vendors were delightful and happy to engage with us. Highly recommend this tour…. GO with an empty belly and a big appetite.
