With a mix of cultural influences on the nation's cuisine, it's no wonder that Malaysian food is a lip-smackingly complex beast.
We'll meet in the old district of Chow Kit and Kampung Baru, one of the last remaining districts that is yet to be developed into glassy high rises.
Don't expect other foreigners. Stroll in this local neighbourhood of nightly street eats, sampling a variety of 15+ tastings, carefully curated for their culinary history.
The flavours change across the year, but highlights include the fragrant bowls of laksa, hand stretched rotis, nasi lemak with piquant sambal and herbal chicken rendang, charcoal-grilled mackerel, and soothing iced cendol with custard-like durian. We'll end with a fine view of the mighty Petronas Twin Towers.
I'm sure you have a lot of your plate, but here's some food for thought. While it's possible to attempt such a culinary marathon yourself, you'd be one sandwich short of a Malaysian picnic not to join me on our moveable food feast.

The tour was a great way to start a trip to Kuala Lumpur and try all the local foods. Ian was a great guide and made the tour very enjoyable even though it started out during a thunderstorm.

Really great experience. I love doing the food tours when I first show up to a new country for traveling. It’s always better that way because I can find what the good foods are from the local and I enjoy it a lot more. Stephen was incredibly knowledgeable and was able to accommodate my love for spicy food while still letting those who couldn’t handle the spice enjoy their time as well! I definitely left very full and Stephen could have gotten us more if we had asked, but with the 15+ things we ate that night it was more than enough for our group of 6. Definitely recommend for anyone who is going to be in Kuala Lumpur. Definitely worth it.

I had a great time on this food tasting with Kash! Kash was such an entertaining guide and fostered community in the tour group in such a short period of time. We tasted soooo many things and I enjoyed gravely despite the rain. Kash provided great insights on not just the food but the history of Malaysia. I had a fantastic time and would recommend.

Stephen was terrific, very knowledgeable of everything from the history, cross-cultural, and origins of the food. He made it fun and interesting. It seemed like the time flew by.
