Our tour guide, Afa, was amazing. He was friendly, funny and courteous. Afa willingly answered all of our questions regarding Samoa. It was quite a bit of driving, however, he kept us engaged throughout. Swimming with giant clams was a highlight. We were the only 2 people at the site snorkeling. The trench was also an amazing experience. Afa treated us to tropical 🍊 oranges which were delicious. Thank you, Afa, for a truly memorable day and experience.

We did two day trips with Matua and they were very flexible about customizing both itineraries based on our arrival and departure times to/from the island. The activities were interesting and both guides were excellent, offering us an abundance of information about Samoa and answering all of our many questions. I highly recommend this company.

Austin did a great job as our driver and tour guide. He was flexible on the sights we saw and where he took us. He also took a route that took advantage of our time and missed the big tour buses.

Where to even begin, Kisa was LIFE. She was everything you want in a guide. My experience to the island for the first time was unbelievably enriched because of her. Now on to the main meat of the review. I was traveling with my friend who is an avid traveler and always down for an adventure, but I am a low effort traveler with mobility limitations. My experience was no less spectacular than hers. Kisa ensured both our needs were met. When we met her, we told her we are total vibe travelers. We love culture and seeing the way of life and things that you love to show off on your island. Kisa was so knowledgeable and if she didn't know she didn't hesitate to say that... but gave us a fact in the same vein that was just as cool. I quite literally cannot say enough about this tour. We really wanted to try the food and maybe go to a market. Kisa selected a market that had easy entry for me. Again, she kept both of us in mind. While we did a little shopping she grabbed a bunch of little things for us to try and we snacked out in the car. I tried soursop for the first time. Lifeee changing. And don't think bestie didn't have the time of her life. We went to the coldest water spot on the island for her to take a dip. We hit us a museum. Lastly, we went to a breath taking church that wove in the Samoan culture with Christianity and it was beautiful.

Just as promised, this tour is Customizable! Guide Josh, a nice young man, gave us total control while suggesting key places he felt we’d want to see. Driving his well maintained sedan we Essentially traveled a cross island loop on good roads visiting Many beautiful natural features of the island — waterfalls, palm lined beaches, dozens of family villages, mountain views, and a quaint beach retreat/resort restaurant with unbelievable views during a delicious lunch (at our expense as expected.) We felt the absolute highlight of the day was an hour long visit to To-Sua Ocean Trench where we descended a ladder +/-30 feet into a sinkhole just above the beach. Cool clear emerald-green waters awaited us at the bottom. We were thankful that Josh brought us there early as crowds began to arrive making the one-at-a-time ladder climb a bit crowded and slow. We’d Highly recommend this “just us two” tour. Josh was kind, thoughtful of our comfort needs, and we found him to be just as curious about our life as we were about his life in Samoa… And finally Josh brought us to a large market near the port where he selected a few traditional Samoan delicacies for us to sample! It really was a great day on The Samoan island of Opolu.. Visited from a transpacific cruise stop originating in Sydney Aus.

We visited two waterfalls, a snorkeling site with giant clams, an impressive sinkhole, with a stop for lunch at the end. There is A LOT of driving involved in this activity, and unfortunately the vehicle we rode in, a small SUV, was really cramped and uncomfortable for 4 adults plus the driver. Jake, or guide, is a very good driver but not really an experienced guide. He was very courteous though and did his best to make our trip enjoyable. We wish him well!

This tour was an amazing way to experience the beauty and culture of Samoa. My guide was very friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about Samoan history, and he took me to several hidden gems and stunning sites around the island. It rained a little, but it didn’t take away from the experience at all—Samoa is beautiful in any weather. I highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting a meaningful and scenic introduction to the country.

Excellent tour of Samoa. Liz was very knowledgeable and Jay was an excellent driver. The tour is customizable so you can let them know where you would like to go and see.

We were picked up by our guide directly at the port. First we were asked what we would like to do, because we were still a bit undecided, our guide suggested us various things from which we put together our tour ourselves. A special highlight was the R.L. Stevenson house. Our guide Afa also told us about each location, answered all questions about Samoa, let us discover everything at our own pace and even cracked coconuts for us!
