What To Expect
On our way to the volcano we will make an incredible stop at the famous Rainbow Slide in El Salvador, fill yourself with adrenaline and emotion sliding in this colorful place.
At the top of the San Salvador volcano is the El Boqueron National Park, this volcano is the easiest to visit, as the street takes us to a parking lot located 10 minutes from the top of the volcano. On the path to the top you will enjoy a pleasant climate, do not forget your sweater. You will find beautiful flowers on the trails and at the top 3 viewpoints. The 3 viewpoints have a privileged view of the volcano's crater. The crater of the San Salvador volcano is the deepest crater in the country, we will understand its eruptive history, its geological formation and a little about the volcanic nature of El Salvador.

5.00This stop at the slide was part of a longer tour. Made me feel like a kid again. The tour brought us up the mountains and down to the city. Our guide was very knowledgeable and I can recommend this for any San Salvador visitor. The lunch (cost not included) on the hillside with a view of San Salvador was an added treat.

5.00We had the absolute BEST experience exploring San Salvador, and it was all thanks to Rafael. From the moment the tour began, it was clear this wasn’t just a job for him — it’s truly his passion. Rafael arrived early, greeted everyone warmly, and instantly made the group feel comfortable. Throughout the day, he shared incredible knowledge about San Salvador’s history, culture, and hidden gems, but what made it even better was how he delivered it — with humor, energy, and genuine excitement. He kept things fun while still being informative, which made every stop more meaningful. One thing we especially appreciated was how inclusive he was. Rafael spoke both Spanish and English so everyone in the group could fully understand and enjoy the experience. That extra effort did not go unnoticed. He also knew exactly where to go for the best local food and coffee between stops — places we never would’ve found on our own. Those little breaks became some of our favorite memories of the day. And on top of all that, he happily took amazing photos and videos for us without hesitation. It felt like we had a guide, photographer, and local friend all in one. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better guide. No complaints whatsoever — just an incredible day from start to finish. If you’re booking a tour, I highly recommend this company, and if you can request Rafael, DO IT. You won’t regret it!

5.00We had an amazing tour in San Salvador with EcoTours Petate that truly showcased the best of El Salvador. We had a chance to see several highlights in one day, including Surf City, the volcano, the natural slide and many other attractions. Each stop was interesting and offered something different, from coastal views to local history, Our guide was very knowledgeable and kept things running smoothly, while also allowing enough time at each location to enjoy and take photos.Transportation was comfortable. Overall, it was an enjoyable way to see a variety of El Salvador’s landscapes and culture in a short time.
