This 4-hour 4x4 adventure tour is specially designed for our clients arriving via passenger liner. You will be met & picked up at the Walvis Bay port where your cruise ship will be docking. Before heading out to Sandwich Harbour we first make a stop at the Walvis Bay Lagoon to admire the flamingos and occasionally a great white pelican, flow the Walvis Bay Salt Refiners with all its pink salt lacks. Now we are off to the Nambi Desert -Sandwich Harbour, one of Southern Africa’s richest and unique wetlands. Wedging between the sea and dunes "if tides permit"; if tides forbid, surf the dunes up to the many convenient lookout spots. Lots of time are granted to explore the area as well as photograph opportunities. Finally, enjoy a light picnic lunch with some cold beverages with a natural desert backdrop, then hit the dunes for some more excitement before concluding your adventure to the Kuiseb River Delta, a dry riverbed where you can occasionally see springbok, oryx, or even ostrich.

What To Expect
Sandwich Habour is where the Namib Sand Dunes meet the Atlantic Ocean. Join us on a half day excursion to one of the many highlights of Namibia. On this excursion you will experience beach driving and thrilling dune drives with fantastic photo opportunities. Plenty of stops where you can experience the fauna and flora and some animals.
Walvis Bay Waterfront
Once you made your booking please make sure to keep in contact with us and providing us your details which will be the best to get hold of you, this is in regarding to the time we will meet and pick you up at the port the day of your excursion. We also monitor the docking time of the passenger liners, and can only give you 14 to 7 days prior the cruise ship arrival in Walvis Bay all the info for you to know for that day.

Where Desert meets the sea

5.00It can be very bumpy on the tracks and the sand dunes are very steep that they go down but great fun. Had a wonderful lunch in the desert. An amazing experience that is very spectacular especially the desert and the sand dunes.

3.00Very good guide. Great site and fun Complaint is that you are not warned that one of the 4 passenger seats is the rear bench with 3 across in what are mostly Toyota crew cab 4x4 pickups. You’re in the front seat great. Rear window okay. Rear center. I’d rather not go. But you pay the same price for what can be a most uncomfortable 4 hours. Unfortunately this seems to be true for most of the tour operators. It should be disclosed. Shame on you Viator.

5.00We were picked up by Marius our guide on time and close to the ship. He was very informative and interesting. The scenery was amazing and otherworldly. We had a beautiful meal and drinks served in a tremendous setting and my Coeliac ( gluten free ) meal was also catered for expertly. Thank you Wild Space safaris for a most memorable day that ended by been returned to the ship in plenty of time. Thank you so much and keep up the great work.❤️👍😁

5.00Gerhard was our tour guide and is incredibly knowledgeable about the entire area, its wildlife, plant life, sea life and all round knowledge about the dunes. Will stop for you to take pictures and answers just about any question thrown at him. A fun guy to have as your tour guide. At the food stop the dishes were beautifully displayed and ever so delicious. The entire experience was incredible. Highly recommend.

5.00Sand dunes, flamingos, Cormorants, salt reclamation and gorgeous views where sea and sand meet. These are the things you can expect on this tour. Plus, we had a wonderful guide named Gerhardus. Lunch with a local beer, soda or some wine was the top to an enjoyable 4 hour tour.
