What To Expect
Church of San Francisco (Iglesia de San Francisco)
Start the tour at the fountain in front of the San Francisco Church with a welcome and a bilingual tour booklet which includes activities to do during and after the tour. Learn the history of this area during prehispanic times. Play a trivia game and have a scavenger hunt. These activities can be done just for fun or with bigger groups, teams can play for points!
Learn why this plaza is the informal living room of San Miguel and about modern San Miguel's celebrations. Play the last round of trivia and one last scavenger hunt. If teams are playing points are added up and the winners declared.Finish the tour just around the corner from where the tour started. Enjoy the post-tour acrivites in the back of the book which include more trivia, a scavenger hunt, a board game, bingo, and memory.

5.00Val was an excellent Spanish speaking guide for children. She engaged them from the first moment and they loved it. The four year old in particular enjoyed the bilingual guide and skipped to each stop.

5.00One of the best tours we've ever done. Vail is a very good guide, but she is also a teacher and very good with children. My daughters were delighted with the tour, super complete and with books so they could follow the information. She knows every corner of the city and has the best tips. Highly recommended.

5.00We had the best day in San Miguel de Allende thanks to Vail. She somehow created this totally custom experience for our multigenerational crew — ages 4 to 77 — that blended a scavenger hunt, a food tour, and a full city adventure, and it worked beautifully for every single person. Vail came prepared with these adorable, super-thoughtful guide booklets and crayons filled with facts, puzzles, and games. Our kids (and the adults too) were still playing with them long after the tour ended. It added such a special touch and made everyone feel included and excited. She was incredibly knowledgeable, patient with our endless questions, and so engaging. And the food stops… incredible. Every bite was delicious and felt authentically SMA. This was the perfect family activity — fun, stress-free, memorable, and a great way to explore the city together. Truly cannot recommend Vail and her tour company highly enough. If you’re coming to San Miguel with a group, this is the tour you want. Absolute 10/10!

5.00This was a great tour with Vail. I had a family of 3 teenagers. Vail adjusted the tour for our family, very informative. I especially liked she texted the day before the tour and reviewed where to meet and time. San Miguel is colorful, artsy with lovely people.
