Santiago de Compostela. Casco Historico
Our walk starts off at Obradoiro Square. Here St. James' Cathedral, World Heritage, stands. The Cathedral where the tomb of the remains of St. James the Apostle rest. You will learn the curious way how Saint James got to Galicia, when, where, and why the tradition of the Camino to Santiago started. The significance of details like the shell, the Compostela... and many more facts. First, our route takes us through the Monumental area of the City. Afterwards we will walk the old medieval streets, the Local Market (Mercado de Abastos), hidden squares, narrow streets, and the Alameda Park. The best views of the Cathedral are here so you should have your camera at hand. We are professional licensed guides that live in Santiago so we can recommend just about anything in the city of Santiago de Compostela. Where to eat, what to visit, or even about the region of Galicia. Just go right ahead and ask. You are in good hands. At the end of the visit, you are free to pay as much as you want.

We greatly enjoyed this tour! I learned many things I did not know about Santiago de Compostela (both the cathedral and the town). Hard to explain in words how beautiful the cathedral is! Our tour guide, Ticiano, was great!

Ticiano gave me a great tour of Santiago de Compostela. He was very knowledgable about the history of the church and town.

We learned a lot of history and I like the small walking tours, but David speaks English with such a strong accent that we only got about 1 of 3 words. He knows his history, that was clear. But he was a cynic about people’s joy walking the Camino, insisted on stopping in the Sun when we asked repeatedly to talk in the shade of buildings, and he was almost rudely dismissive of the USA, unlike every other tour guide on our trip. Would not recommend him

I took a chance to book a couple of paying tour with a company specialized in "free tours", and I'm happy I did. Margarita was my initial contact, and she helped me planned a perfect day in Santiago de Compostela. She was very responsive and patient, and answered my million questions. :) On the day of the tour, We had a private city tour for our group of 4 with Cristina, and we bonded with her immediately! She was very fun, caring and professional. She gave us a really good overview of the city, and told us the history of the city. Then we met up with Diego, who gave us a guided tour of the museum and the cathedral. Also a great guide. I highly recommend this tour company!

They confirmed by phone that they would be there for the tour, and when we spoke again they directed us with the competition to make them look bad and also they did not show up and did not answer the phone.
