As a lover of anchovies I am interested to know how they are processed. The factory provided an informative tour including a short video in English which covered everything. While we were there a public relations employee was shooting clips for social media so they are looking to spread the word. This is a beautiful part of the Cantabrian coast you should not miss. The 1 hour boat cruise have us great views of the bay and you can glimpse Laredo beach if you don't get a chance to spend time there. Our tour guide showed us parts of the historic town not normally frequented. And you can claim to have walked a few hundred metres of the Camino del Norte later. All in all a very satisfactory half day.

The trip was interesting and the downpour of rain all day was a little daunting for we big babies. Guide was very good and did everything to make our small group happy.

Interesting to see the process of packing the anchovies. Interesting to hear about the history of the town. The only negative was the boat trip was all in spanish so had no idea what we were looking at. An info sheet in English would have been useful.

It has been very curious to discover how the anchovies are cleaned one by one and the dedication they put to it, the girls of the factory were very friendly.Jairo who was our guide explained very well the history of the lovines and the very didactic boat ride, fun. We'd do it again.

Conservas La Abuela María – Santoña (Not to be confused with Conservas Ana María) La Abuela María preserves, for the pleasure of our taste buds, real local anchovies, according to an artisanal method. The fillets are sweet, not too salty, tasty; and keep chilled for nearly 6 months. The “vinegar boquerones” are also delicious. The young couple at the head of this Enterprise is adorable, available, friendly and extremely helpful. They must be praised for their kindness and talent.

An excursion for the entire family! We loved it! Kids are sure to remember this amazing experience that involved a boat tour, anchovy factory tour and tasting! Our guide was highly knowledgable and gracious to inform us of the many things that are unique to Santona and the surrounding areas! Punctual pick up and drop off in a super clean and spacious vehicle driven by our tour guide. Thank you!!
