This is one of the best local experiences while doing a few hours of hiking combined with meeting small local Arabica coffee farmers from the beautiful Sarangkot Pandeli village near Pokhara. This experience covers most stages of organic coffee farming and processing methods from farm to the cup. You will also have a chance to learn about the community-focused non-profit organization which is helping local organic Arabica coffee farmers by providing training and sharing updated knowledge required in coffee farming and its challenges to operate sustainably while paying 30% more money for farmer’s coffee cherries compared to other collectors in the region. This tour also highlights how women are empowered through community based tourism project by creating job locally.
During this experience you will have a chance to taste the locally grown arabica coffee and organic lunch prepared by women group who are part of community tourism project.

We will meet all our guests at this place and start our guided tour. It will take us 1 hour 30 minutes through the shore of Phewa Lake to reach Khapaudi Village from where we will do the uphill hike.
Phewa Tal
One of the beautiful lake of Nepal where we will hike side by side during the tour. From Khapaudi village it's time to do an uphill hike for another 2 hours and 30 minutes and experience the village life and interact with the local people on the way. some part of the hike will be from community forests to reach up to beautiful Pandeli village.

I just spent a lovely afternoon with members of the Sharing Seeds community. I was the only one on the tour and they kindly accommodated my somewhat limited mobility by arranging a taxi ride to the farm rather than a hike. They warnly welcomed me, provided a delicious lunch (I regretted having a large breakfast!) and gave me a tour of the farms. We then chatted while the children played and I came away feeling connected and more understanding of small scale sustainable farming in Nepal. I highly recommend this tour if you're at all interested in sustainable farming or local culture.

We were picked up on foot from our hotel and had a lovely hike down to the community. Great authentic lunch was provided along with some very tasty iced coffee. The tour was fun and so inspiring to see the farm and all that they grow. Would definitely visit again if we’re around the region again.

I had an amazing time on my day trip to the coffee plantation and farm with Sharing Seeds Co-op. I chose the option where we took a cable car to the top and then hiked down. The uphill walk to the cable car was manageable, though it was a bit warm—next time, I might opt for a taxi to the base instead. That said, it was a fantastic way to enjoy the mountain views, visit the Ganesh statue, and have meaningful conversations. I also appreciated that it was just the guide and me, which gave me space to move at my own pace—something important to me as I sometimes have low energy due to chronic illness. My guide was incredibly knowledgeable about local flora, history, and culture. Their English was excellent, as they had lived abroad, and they were able to answer all my questions easily. One of the highlights was identifying plants on the hike down—including edible ones like the delicious orange Himalayan berries we found along the trail. The farm itself made my heart sing—it’s a beautiful example of permaculture and sustainable agriculture. I had a great time nerding out about all the different trees and plants, and learning how coffee is cultivated in shaded areas that weren’t previously used. Lunch was delicious, the coffee was outstanding, and the team was warm and gracious. As a bonus, there was an adorable puppy on-site when I visited, which made the day even more special. They were so friendly and peaceful—I can absolutely see why someone would want to spend their whole life there! I was also grateful they arranged transportation home so I didn’t have to hike back. All in all, it was a perfect day trip—especially if you’ve got a trekking adventure ahead. Highly, highly recommend this experience.

The tour was great! We walked all the way up the mountain with stunning views over the lake. We had a delicious lunch and afterwards walked around the coffee plants and other crops. It was nice to learn more about the village, the culture and the Organic farming life.

We had a visit with a group of fellow travellers and it was an amazing time, from the gentle walk down to the community with a warm welcome and the tasty breakfast. The tour of the beehives, vegetable garden and coffee plants was very informative and afterwards we sampled the coffee they produce with an opportunity to buy some to take home. It is a very worthwhile initiative run by dedicated and passionate people who care about their land and their community. Well worth a visit.
