This activity is accessible to all, beginner or experienced, you will be in a small group of 2 to 7 people for maximum fun on secluded sites and away from the crowds.

What To Expect

Welcome on our new boat with a team of passionate professionals to discover the wonders of nature near Punaauia in Tahiti. With your Underwater Scooter, your guide will take you to meet the different species living in our clear waters. You will swim in shades of light blue full of tropical fishes, you will discover plane and boat wrecks as well as a beautiful coral garden. Your guide will assist you throughout your water scooter ride to show you the different aquatic creatures and help you find the most discreet ones like rays, turtles or small sharks. And if you're lucky, you may be able to spot the humpback whales in the area from July to November from the boat. This famous site that we will discover together, is called the AQUARIUM, it is inside the lagoon about 10 minutes of navigation from the starting point. It will be particularly suitable for people who suffer from seasickness since the waters are calm and protected. 'ATAE Tahiti : "Nature, Love, Fun & Respect"

My wife and I booked this tour the evening before and were fortunate to aboard. I am a more experienced in snorkeling but my wife not so much. Jeremy and Sylva (spelling?) were our guides. They were so patient explaining the process step by step and ensuring that we had time to acclimate to the water before heading away from the boat. The snorkel scooters were a huge help as we navigated through some areas with stronger current. We didn’t tire quickly like we would have without them. They were a ton of fun too. Before too long my wife was whizzing about like a pro. Both guides stopped to come up to the surface and explain some of the things we observed and the impact of our interactions with the environment. Jeremy and Sylva really care about the comfort and safety of the people under their charge. This wasn’t a tour but more of an experience. I was glad we went with this company. Five stars!!! Highly recommend. Don’t miss out!

This is one of the best excursions you can take. I highly recommend it. I went with my husband and two kids (age 8 and 10). We all had a blast. Sylvain picked us up at our hotel, provided all the gear, and ensured that everyone had a great time. We got to see a ray, a shark, wrecks, and so many fish in the coral garden. The scooters allow you to see so much and make it accessible to people of all ages. Absolutely exceptional! I would come back and do this again.

We had a wonderful time on this snorkel experience with Jeremy and crew! Slyvain helped us upgrade our tour the evening before and we are so glad we upgraded to the Safari they offer. The upgrade was 100% worth it! The “aquarium” was full of marine life (including an eagle ray) and the wrecks were fascinating to snorkel around. The crew paused often to make sure we were safe and to tell us about the marine life we were seeing. We then went to “turtle paradise” and snorkeled with so many turtles! Our final snorkel adventure was taking the “sea scooter” across a channel to see many more turtles, some sharks and lots of eagle rays. The excursion was wonderful and the addition of snacks/juice, pictures and videos really makes this tour a valuable one. We would highly recommend it and can’t wait to return for future adventures. :)

Our family of 4 had an amazing time snorkeling with Sylvain around the ships/plane wrecks and the coral reefs. Though not our first snorkeling experience, it was a first with sea scooters. We were the only group in the water that morning with sea scooters. And it was clear that we cover more area than the other groups. The sea scooter also really helped my 9 y.o., who wasn't a strong swimmer, to navigate in the water. Sylvain also brought her a full face snorkel mask to accommodate her dental braces and expander. Sylvain guided us around the reefs. The coral reefs were full of diverse marine life. The highlight was following 2 sting rays for a good distance. It was also fun to pose for photos with the ship and plane wrecks underwater. Sylvain is an excellent photographer. He took many amazing photos and videos of us in the water. We stayed at a resort with pier nearby, so Sylvain dropped us off at the door from the boat after the tour. All the adults and the kids had a blast. 5-stars all around. Highly recommended. Would definitely do this again (hopefully during humpback whales season).

It was great and so much fun! Highly recommended for everybody. Jeremy, our guide, made everybody very comfortable. He has great knowledge of marine life and shared with us many interesting information. The plane wreck was awesome!
First time from UK to Tahiti, Great Trip, Value for Money. Tour crew were amazing! Thoroughly recommend!

Fantastic day out with Sylvain and Jeremy today! Very attentive tour guides and their knowledge of the area, ocean and wildlife is inspiring. Drinks and Snacks included, also a wetsuit which we were be dry grateful for, especially for sunburn! The sea scooters were great fun, this was our first time using something like that and we thoroughly enjoyed. Visibility in the ocean today wasn’t the best and the wind had picked up so there was a deep ocean swell, but both Sylvain and Jeremy checked the ocean first for safety and what wildlife were nearby. The area was deemed safe as there was no current but viability was still relatively poor so the option was on us a guests if we’d like to continue. Of course, we continued. This was my partner and I’s first trip to Tahiti from the UK and we had a fantastic morning on the ocean with ATEA. Would definitely recommend, value for money!

Can't say enough good things about Sylvain and Jeremy. Their love of the ocean and the creatures in it was very evident. My wife was originally non too keen on the idea, and admitted to being terrified as she slipped into the water. Jeremy was so kind and patient with her, building her confidence up bit by bit to the point where she was one of the last out and asks can we do it again. We had a great mix of people and S & J are great hosts.
