Enjoy a self-guided e-bike ride through the best of the Tweed hinterland, finishing at the award-winning Husk Farm Distillery. Starting from our Mooball location, opposite the southern end of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail, this route combines trail riding with quiet country roads and rainforest.
Ride at your own pace using our navigation app, with the flexibility to stop and explore the surroundings along the way. The route includes sections of the Rail Trail, historic bridges, tunnels and a mix of hinterland landscapes before continuing through rainforest and farmland toward Tumbulgum.
Husk Farm Distillery is the perfect place to relax at the end of your ride, with tastings of Husk Rum and Ink Gin.
We provide a premium e-bike, helmet, lock, pannier or backpack, and a full briefing before you start. Optional return transport to Mooball is available for convenience.
This is a self-guided experience, allowing you to explore independently and enjoy the ride at your own pace.

What To Expect
Mooball
The start of your tour, the legendary Moo Moo roadhouse in Mooball. We will arrive with the bikes opposite the roadhouse and set you up with a great E Bike, helmet, hi-viz backpack and a smartphone app to guide you. After a short bike and safety briefing you are all set to begin your adventure.
Crabbes Creek
Option to cycle back form Mooball to Crabbes Creek, a lovely section of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail and the first tunnel on the route at Mills Road. Crabbes Creek is also home to a very cute general store which you can visit with a short diversion off the Trail. Take the diversion to the store or just cruise on by through the countryside on your way to Burringbar.

5.00Excellent service and easy booking. On arrival the staff were friendly, very informative and setup the gps app that was easy to navigate. Pick up at end of day was a welcomed service after the 50km ride.

5.00Fabulous ride! Lots of variety of terrain to keep things interesting once off the rail trail and going through the tunnel was fun. Loved the stops along the way to get a coffee/snack or lunch. Great for a family too! We took it slow to admire the beautiful scenery unfolding before us! 10/10!

5.00Steve and his team at Beyond Byron E bikes were fantastic. Gear was prepared for us prior to arrival and was in excellent condition. Easily followed app provided route guidance. Thoroughly recommend going through to Husk distillery. The rail trail section is flat and easy 24 km. We stopped around halfway for lunch at Hosanna Farmstay. Fantastic food and beverages and entertainment if you have kids in your group. Good options for gluten free people. The extension to Husk distillery is well worth the effort. We cycled through sugar cane just prior to harvest and then up through rain forest. The e bikes made easy work of the steep climb and the view from the top was fantastic. Husk distillery rum or gin cocktails a worthy reward at the end.

5.00The trail was a great mix of farmland, sugarcane fields, and rainforest. The bikes gave you a help up the hills which was appreciated. Husk Distillery was beautiful and a great prize for completing the ride. Although the seats are soft, of not used to riding distance then bike pants are recommended.

5.00Great experience! I’d highly recommend booking a self tour to get out of Byron and enjoy the hinterland. Really friendly service, bikes are amazing quality and make the ride enjoyable - especially the hill climbs. We did the Husk Distillery, Rainforest & The Rail Trail - Self Guided E Bike Tour and stopped at the Tweed Regional Gallery, and had some lunch at the cafe in Murwillumbah before finishing off with a gin & tonic at Husk.

5.00Steve and Brett really ensures we were well prepared and informed for our tour. The bikes were great and the scenic tour was full of wonderful sights and experiences. The service and pick up by Steve was seamless. Husk was the perfect end destination with a beautiful vista and fast friendly service.
