We had an excellent experience with our self-guided e-Bike tour of Acadia. We met the staff from Island Time Ebike Rentals at the Hulls Cove Vistor's Center. We were given an orientation on the park and use of the bikes. Safety was a priority. The guides were very knowledgeable and friendly and answered all of our questions. The guide map they provided was great. This was our first time at Acadia and we definitely appreciated having the 'full day' bike rental as it allowed us to see a lot of the park's interior via the carriage roads. The carriage roads are wide and hard packed gravel, with only bikes or pedestrians (and the occasional carriage) allowed. We rode 29.5 miles and had a great time, with frequent stops to take in the scenery. At the end of our ride, staff met us and collected our bikes and helmets. The bikes were 2025 Cannondale ebikes and were in almost new condition. We'd highly recommend this tour and tour operator.

Pairing the self guided tour with the recreational equipment of the e-bike and the scenic beauty of Acadia and the carriage roads yielded a fantastic tourist experience for us. We’d already driven and hiked the park but 20+ miles on the carriage road allowed us access to most of the park that we had not yet seen. The service was great and incredibly convenient. Safety was emphasized. We highly recommend this excursion.

The Cannondale bikes were in excellent shape, as were the helmets. They seemed to be a bit newer and higher quality than some other tours’ bikes we saw. The instructions we received were very helpful. Our tour guide spent more time with our group than what we saw with other companies nearby. We had never ridden a. E-bike before, but it was super easy to learn. The carriage roads were very well marked, well maintained, and provided exceptional views. We are so glad we had a family member recommend this activity for us. It was the best part of our week-long trip.

Pros: Wonderful ride on the carriage roads. E-bikes were all in great condition and appreciated the map and suggested itinerary. Cons: Orientation to use of the bikes could be shortened.

The e bikes are easy to use. The Carriage Road path is smooth and picturesque. We had a splendid time riding along the lake. If you don’t do anything else in Maine, rent an e bike and enjoy the journey.

This bike ride was the highlight of our trip!!! Although we had ridden bikes through Acadia before, this was our first e-bike experience. At first I was a bit apprehensive about ebiking, but Wilton our guide (and we later found out he owned the company) was very good at showing us how to ride them with confidence and safety first. The ride was beautiful and really fun! The history of Acadia—from Native American ingenuity to development and preservation—was interestingly explained. We would happily do this adventure again and highly recommend it! Thanks, Wilton!
