This was a nice trek. It was 3.30mi to the waterfall and took about 50-60 minutes to get to. There are a number of rocky areas so be careful not to trip or hurt an ankle. It can get congested and slow you down if you are an aggressive hiker. The costs seemed a tad steep for the 5-6 minute ferry ride so I think there’s some fleecing of tourist going on there. It should reasonably be $40-$50 NZD

Great day- water taxi took us to sandfly point for drop off - trail was easy to follow and falls at end were great - taxi came back and forth frequently

Easy and simple - just works fine; getting back from Sandfly Point also easy, just wait there and taxi is coming after about 15 min

The track is mostly flat but with lots of big and not big rocks on several patches of the path, so have the right hike shoes to protect your ankles and you’ll be fine 💪☺️ It took us about 1h30 one way and we stayed 30 minutes at falls taking pictures and eating our sandwiches and then same to travel back to the boat pickup. I’d say start earlier in the day like at 10am max, and then enjoy your hike even at a snail’s pace 😋

Great hike. Prepare for it to feel long. But was nevertheless exhilarating. Highly recommended if you love the wilderness
