I created this tour for my vegetarian family visiting from abroad, who struggled to figure out what they could safely eat in Seoul’s markets. I spent over a month in Gwangjang Market before my family came, checking ingredients and talking with each cook until I mapped a route for vegetarians.
Since guiding my family, I kept researching and fine-tuning the route. Every stop is now fully plant-based, so both vegetarians and vegans can join with confidence. I handle all ordering and translation, so you can simply enjoy the food and stories.
Important note: Gwangjang is a busy working market; some cross-contact or cross-contamination may occur, and the tour is not suitable for strict gluten-free diets or food allergies.

The vegan food tour was a great experience! Jungho is extremely thorough in his preparation and ensuring all the food is vegan. He also did an excellent job explaining each item and how it ties in with Korean culture. The food itself was very tasty and there was so much of it as well as a great variety of dishes. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Seoul!

In Seoul I could never think we could have such a good and yummy vegan experience. One of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommend. Great for kids too.

It was a really good food tour experience. I will definitely recommend it. You do not only get a food tour but also cultural tour with that. Jungho is a really good guide. I felt stuffed as if I visited my grandma after all the different things we tried 😋. There is nothing more to pay and you end up with a doggy bag of additional food even ! The tour is around 2 hours long. Best for all, I was solo but there were couples and family too 😁

Jungho was a great guide. Cheerful and friendly and excited. A great communality was built within the group as well. Food was great. Very nice shared experience.

As vegetarians, we could not have navigated the Gwangjang Market without Jungho. He expertly moved us amongst several stalls and shared a range of savory and sweet bites along with several drinks while catering to and remembering each members’ name and predilections––no mushrooms, not too spicy, no vegetable dumplings if boiled in the same water as meat dumplings. Beyond the food, he also explained cultural aspects of the food and drink––the why and how of it, which would have been lost without him. Additionally, our group had a lovely, fun-spirited camaraderie that added to the overall enjoyment of the tour. Jungho and this tour were definitely a highlight of our visit to Seoul!

This was the second time I took this tour; that's how good it is!!! I was pleasantly surprised to find Jungho had tweaked a few things since I came last year, which took the tour from a lovely memory to an incredible experience. The food is so delicious, and there is SO MUCH of it - I didn't eat much that day and I was completely stuffed, but still wanted to finish everything we tried. Though I've been to Korea three times, as a foreigner it's always difficult to guarantee fully vegetarian meals, so this tour is invaluable, and I've been back to the same stalls a few times on my own! I would 100% do this tour again and would encourage anybody considering it to book! Jungho is incredibly welcoming and accommodating: you will be in very good hands. Thank you! 😊

This was maybe the best thing I did on my trip to Korea. Jungho absolutely went above and beyond for this experience. Meeting area was easy to find (take the subway not the bus which Jungho warned us of in advance). We were a group of six and Jungho remembered all of our names and checked in with us as individuals throughout the experience. You can absolutely tell the care, attention to detail, and time he has put into this tour, and it is something I never would have been able to experience on my own. Arrive hungry because you will feast!

Such a great tour! We had so much great vegan food which can be hard to find in Seoul. Jungho was so generous with the food and even provided us goody bags at the end with more vegan snacks.

What a sensational evening! We did the Seoul Vegan & Vegetarian Gwangjang Market Food Tour with 11 tastings and absolutely loved every minute of it. Firstly, Jungho was an outstanding guide. Attentive, experienced, caring, wonderfully humorous, and with perfectly clear English delivered with a lovely American twang, he made the entire experience effortless and engaging. My husband and I are not vegetarian or vegan, but we chose this tour because our friends had dietary restrictions. To our surprise, the food was absolutely delicious and incredibly varied. Jungho shared fascinating history about Gwangjang Market, explained the different foods, and introduced us to some tasty and interesting alcoholic pairings along the way. The market stalls and restaurants were also wonderfully organised, clean, and surprisingly spacious, comfortably accommodating our group of seven and making the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. We visited several market restaurants for relaxed sit down tastings, with more food than we could possibly finish, and learned a few Korean traditions as well. The whole evening was warm, lively, informative, and so much fun. We sat, ate, laughed, and even made a few new friends along the way. We would highly recommend Jungho’s tour to anyone visiting Seoul. And the dessert? Absolutely unforgettable, the perfect ending to a fabulous night!
