I created this tour for my vegetarian family visiting from abroad, who struggled to figure out what they could safely eat in Seoul’s markets. I spent over a month in Gwangjang Market before my family came, checking ingredients and talking with each cook until I mapped a route for vegetarians.
Since guiding my family, I kept researching and fine-tuning the route. Every stop is now fully plant-based, so both vegetarians and vegans can join with confidence. I handle all ordering and translation, so you can simply enjoy the food and stories.
Important note: Gwangjang is a busy working market; some cross-contact or cross-contamination may occur, and the tour is not suitable for strict gluten-free diets or food allergies.

Fabulous night out trying traditional Korean foods and drinks. Jungho was the perfect guide. He walked us through the market and gave us info on the foods and Korean culture as we made several stops to try 8 foods and 3 drinks--all guaranteed vegan. It was a rare opportunity to try lots of Korean food that is all vegan--foods you would like to try, but would normally have seafood or other non-vegan ingredients anywhere else in Korea. Jungho was always very attentive making sure everyone was doing well and even gave us a surprise bonus bag at the end of a couple vegan foods to go. I highly recommend this tour when you're in Seoul--even if you're not vegan!

Jeongho was excellent, fantastic English, friendly and helpful. Very thorough tour, filled with insightful information and fun facts about Korean culture and food history. Really enjoyed it. The amount of food and drinks was more than you could possibly eat. He also let us know which places are good to return to on our own. It was so great to try traditional Korean street and comfort foods and I have found a new favourite Korean food I can’t wait to make at home. Thank you Jeongho, I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in vegan vegetarian food.

As a novice to Korean cuisine, we knew this would be the perfect way to explore the culinary explosion of flavors and textures that Korean dishes offer. Jungho was an exceptional host with his concise and prompt communication prior to the tour, his explanation on the preparation of dishes we tasted, and providing historical knowledge as we made our way through the market. The selection of food that Jungho presented to us was a perfect balance ensuring we were able to enjoy our evening. Above all, Jungho is extremely attentive, knowledgeable, and so much fun to be around. We are so happy with our experience and hope others are able to share the joy!

Jongho’s vegan tour is a fantastic necessity when visiting Korea! His pace, knowledge, and preparation could not have been better. Having had great difficulty finding vegan options here in Seoul, I had sadly resigned myself to missing out on Korean food experiences. Thanks to Jungho, this was no longer true! He knew just how long to stop at each part of the tour to allow relaxed eating and not feeling too full early on the tour, always checking in regarding taste, quantity, and likes/ dislikes. At each stop, Jungho not only explained ingredients and how food is prepared, including modifications for vegan diet (and why this is difficult with Korean cuisine), he also provided a wealth of understanding, symbolism, and historical culinary information. (If you don’t already know which season brings out the most pancakes begin eaten here, Jungho will quiz you and, like a skilled teacher, explain the answer!) Due to his extensive preparation prior to the tour, Jungho ensured that each tasting went smoothly, even with last minute changes based on tourist preferences. His connections with every vendor resulted in seamless changes and the ability to taste Korean cuisine in a way that would have been impossible to navigate alone. If not for Jungho’s expertise, I would have left Korea without having experienced Korean food like this. As the highlight of my entire Korean visit, this is an experience I am fortunate to have had and can’t wait to let others know about also! Thank you Jungho!!
