What To Expect
Zhujiajiao Ancient Town
Meet up your friendly private guide at your hotel lobby in the morning or afternoon based on your preferred schedule. Transferred by comfortable vehicle to Zhujiajiao, a water town on the outskirts of Shanghai, and was established about 1,700 years ago. Upon arrival, stroll along the old street and traditional market where you will find many interesting vendors and local specialties. You will also find the best known bridges, built during Ming and Qing Dynasties. Take a relaxing boat ride in the water canals, and your friendly private guide will share with you the history and story of the area. After the tour, your guide will send you back to the hotel in Shanghai city.

5.00Our guide was Kalvin, he was truly great - very knowledgeable and friendly! Overall the tour is well organised. Tasty lunch at one specific restaurant was included. The water town is beautiful but the feel is incredibly touristy (and it’s packed). Most of it is basically going through little streets where locals are selling souvenirs and food to you.

5.00The tour company arrived on time in a van big enough for our group of six and we had a great tour with Jenny. She told us about the history of Zhujiajiao as we walked around the city. We had a great time sampling food and tea from shops, souvenir shopping, and we enjoyed the local lunch and boat ride. I would recommend this tour and Jenny as a tour guide. She took care of all the tickets and details and we had a lot of fun.

5.00We had an amazing day on our Zhujiajiao water town tour, Our guide Judy was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful throughout our tour and Mr Chung was an excellent driver! We took our toddler on the tour and Judy made sure he was entertained throughout the day and also made sure we got a meal for him that suited his allergies. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is looking for a lovely day out in Shanghai. Thank you all for a wonderful and very memorable day 🙂

5.00We had a wonderful day in Zhujiajiao with our guide Caroline. She is extremely knowledgeable and explained the history and culture of the water town in perfect English, always with a great sense of humor. Caroline was very attentive and thoughtful throughout the tour – she always checked on our comfort, helped us take photos, and gave us useful local tips. Zhujiajiao itself is beautiful, and the boat ride along the canals was a very special experience. Overall, it was a perfect day and we feel very lucky to have had Caroline as our guide. Highly recommended! 🌟

5.00Snow was an excellent guide. Very patient and gave us a private tour of Zhujiajiao Town. This visit is recommended to all visitors to Shanghai, just 40 km West. Takes you back to the 1816 and the old Chinese villages and the importance of Horse trading once the 'Silk Road' opened up to the Middle East. Horses were introduced to China in exchange for 'Spice and Silk'. Zhujiajiao is also called the Venice of the Orient. Great souvenir shopping too. He walked us through the history of Shanghai and took us to the Zhujiajiao Water Town, where he shared fascinating stories about the ancient canals, local culture, and traditional architecture. The boat ride was peaceful and scenic, and Kalvin made the entire experience feel authentic and meaningful with his knowledge and warm personality.

5.00Miss Snow found us at our meeting place & called for our driver to pick us up. A beautiful new luxury 4 passenger van zipped us away from the crowds and downtown traffic to the peaceful canals of Watertown. Miss Snow was friendly and knowledgeable about Shanghai and many things. We chatted so easily that the 1 hour drive went by quickly. I will reccommend both Miss Snow & Amazing Shanghai Company via Viator to take you to clean & tranquil Watertown.

5.00Great Snow met us at Yu Gardens so we didn’t have to was time going back the ship. We were on a time crunch. And she made sure we saw and did everything in Zhujiajiao to do. The traffic is terrible so be sure you add time for crowded road like Beijing. We were delighted with the service we received from Alana making sure everything went off correctly great Shanghai tour with Snow
