We were unsure at the beginning, as these experiences may sound like too touristy. But we don't regret it at all! Mrs Suzuki (4 children 4 husbands đ) was incredible. So entertaining. Amd she answered all our questions. Minutes flew by, and we enjoyed every single moment. They also let us keep the kimonos after the ceremony, to take pictures outside, at the nearby shrine. Unforgettable afternoon. Ichi-go ichi-e... Thank you for the memories of a lifetime!

So worth the money paid! Love the entire experience.. huge selection of kimonos to choose from and they dress you up and do your hair so beautifully and the tea ceremony in itself was so nice, she explained the significance behind every step so well, cool experience.

With all there is to see and do in Japan, THIS was a highlight of my trip! The experience offered the childlike fun of getting dressed up in a traditional kimono and hairpiece (complete with souvenir socks!) to a serene opportunity to learn and participate in a truly unique Japanese custom. Also, while booking, I had asked about the sweets included in the ceremony due to a food allergy, and the company even sent an ingredient list so I could confirm their safety. On my next trip to Japan, I definitely plan to visit Maikoya's other locations in Tokyo and Kyoto since, as the company points out "it's the experiencesânot the possessionsâthat stay with us, shaping our understanding of the world".

What an amazing experience!! From start to finish! Loved getting dressed in a Kimono and the help from the ladies. Very authentic and the tea ceremony was peaceful and insightful. AI was a terrific guide into the experience! Also, is cool that can walk around after the ceremony and take pictures! I highly recommend this!

It was a truly magnificent afternoon. They dressed us in beautiful authentic kimono costumes and the choice of kimonos and accessories was huge. The tea ceremony was interesting, informative and fun and the lady holding the ceremony has so much knowledge. Afterwards we went to the shrine next door, perfect for photos.

We enjoyed and learned a lot about Japanese tea ceremony customs. It was interesting to get outfitted in their traditional kimonos and partake in their tea ceremony. It was a nice plus that they offer chairs for those that needed them.
