Around 4:00 to 5:00 am, the guide with private transport, and the selectors of your Accommodation in our city of Cusco, (in case the tourist has a program in the Urubamba or Ollantaytambo) in advance so we can coordinate the exact time of your pick-up). Our transport takes you to the Ollantaytambo station which is 1 hour and 40 minutes away, from our city and where you will take the train to Km 104.
The starting point of the Trek is where we are scheduled to get off this exciting trek. When arriving at this point it is necessary to present your passports or document with which to make the reservation and then this tiny procedure will begin with our walk to the Citadel of Machu Picchu.
The first Archaeological center to visit is Chacha Bamba which is located at 2,050 Masl Place that is located in the same valley despite having passed time, it preserves intact its architecture and continues with the walk with a leisurely and calm ascent that lasts around 3 hours, enjoying the landscape and then reaching the enigmatic complex of Wiñay Wayna.

We arrived at Wiñay Wayna, which was an agricultural center, and took the opportunity to taste our box lunch and rest for a half hour enjoying the beautiful scenery, during the journey you can see the stunning views of the Urubamba River as well as the different types of orchids that We will descend to the cloudy point in the direction of the Inti Punku (Sun gate).
From this point, you will be able to contemplate and observe this marvelous place, where you can feel inner peace. Spend a short time for pictures and views, with luck, you can observe a magnificent sunset in this wonderful place.
Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu
We walk to Machu Picchu in the early afternoon in the middle of beautiful nature. Then we keep descending for another 45 minutes to arrive at a mirador near the Guardian House, a breathtaking view of most of the citadel with temples and constructions built in white granite rock, plazas, and terraces. After having enough time, we start descending to the entry of Machu Picchu. Then, we will take the bus to the town of Aguas Calientes.

Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu
Our guided tour will last approximately 2 hours to 2 hours around the Inca citadel, visiting Circuit 3 the main sites like the enclosures, squares, Sacred Sources, Temples, and the agricultural and urban sectors. After our visit, we will go down to the town of Aguas Calientes for lunch and rest.

Time to lunch and relax. Then we headed to the train station, the train departs from Aguas Calientes late in the afternoon.
Cusco
Our train journey will be until Ollantaytambo, and then private transport will bring them to your accommodation in Cusco.

5.00Minka’s was recommended to me by a friend that visited Cusco in Aug 2022, and now I can see why! The Short Inca Trail is an absolutely amazing experience with Minka’s. The experience was personalized, tailored to my interests and athletic ability, as well as Minka’s guides have an amazing wealth of knowledge about the environment, culture, and history, and accommodations and travel are all arranged by Minka’s. Additionally, my guide, Bryan, took amazing photos all along the route, to cherish my experience here. I had the opportunity to do the trail solo, with guide Bryan. Minka’s hires personable, special people that make your journey extremely special. I had an absolutely unforgettable experience with Bryan, and will definitely book Minka’s for other excursions when I return to Cusco. Chachabamba, Wiñaywanya, the Sun Gate, all filled with history and energy. Bryan had a lot to share about each site and illuminated by knowledge about Incan history. Not just the historical sites are incredible, but also the nature and wildlife. Even in dry season, you can appreciate bird calls, tiny beautiful creatures, waterfalls, butterflies, beautiful moss and flowers. Bryan did a fantastic job at tailoring the experience to my athletic ability, and was very encouraging. Minka’s provides plenty of food for the Inca Trail hike, and it is very delicious. Accommodations coordinated at Aguas Calientes were clean and comfortable. Not to mention, of course, when you finally see and walk through Machu Picchu! What an unforgettable experience. Mountains all around, makes you remember what it means to be human, and the amazing things we are capable of when we have reverence for life and respect for Mother Earth. Bryan had a lot to share about Machu Picchu, and it makes the experience even better when you know how much your guide loves and respects the site. What a blessing. Rain and shine, I got to see Machu Picchu in both conditions, equally beautiful weather that changes your connection with this ancient city. In the morning, Bryan and I hiked Huchuy Picchu, and Bryan helped me and encouraged me along the way, as I am afraid of heights. Huchuy Picchu was a relaxing, short hike, with an incredible view of Machu Picchu city. Then, we completed Circuit 4, and got to walk through the Industrial Zone, King’s Quarters, Condor Temple. Saying goodbye to Machu Picchu, I shed a few tears. We looked to the East, at Mount Putucusi, and said our goodbyes. Can’t wait to book Minka’s again!

5.00Irwin and his team took 13 of us on a 4 day trip to Macchu Piccu, Rainbow mountain, and River Rafting. His team is thorough, professional, safe, and enjoyable to be around. Seriously, if your looking for great experience without trying to figure out all the little details of transportation, accommodations, safe places to eat, etc… use Minka travel. Legit company with many extras along the way. We received a usb of all the pics and video highlights throughout the trip. What an amazing experience! Have done 2 trips here and this is best experience and business to use.
