The crown jewel, multi award-winning and bestseller tour, this is a classic experience one must have when in Lisbon.
We start by Sintra, whose cultural landscape is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you’ll have free time to explore the village center with its typical narrow and steep cobblestone streets and outstanding sceneries.
The tour heads after to Quinta da Regaleira, and its 4 hectares of lush gardens, lakes, grottoes and enigmatic constructions such as the Iniciatic Well, a true must see.
The next stop is the enormous Pena Park, a unique botanic garden with 85 hectares of pure nature easy to fall in love with.
After the Sintra visit, the tour takes you through the charming road of the county to the westernmost point of continental Europe, the impressive Cabo da Roca.
Last but not least the beachtown of Cascais, former fisherman town, today an elite and chic hotspot, after being a refuge during World War II, where you’ll have free time to stroll around.

Susannah took us on a journey through the magical sites outside of Lisbon, as it was a small tour we got to enjoy the drive in between sights in a smaller van (vs a large bus).

The day starts early (8:00 a.m.) in Rossario Square, followed by about an hour's drive to the Pena Palace (outside of palace is beautiful, but make sure you also include the interior guided tour). Beautiful, well preserved interiors. Some stairs inside, but easy to navigate. Then off to Regaleira (quite a bit of walking in the gardens here). High lite was stroll through the manmade caverns and the well (lots of stairs here to descend the well to the bottom and the caverns - you don't exit the same way - no stairs to exit). Cabo da Roca had great views of the ocean, which at times can be very rough, creating incredible waves crashing on the sea cliffs. Our day was incredibly winding, making vertical walking almost impossible, but still an experience. Lastly, Cascais was just a drive-by, drive-through visit on the return to Lisbon.

I did this tour as a solo traveler and had such a great experience. João was an incredible guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of Sintra and clearly passionate about what he does. He made the day feel engaging, fun, and memorable, and I never once felt out of place traveling alone. Highly recommend this tour, especially if you want both great storytelling and a warm, welcoming guide.

Daniel was a great tour guide. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Pena Palace was breathtakingly beautiful. Quinta de Regelaria was spooky and enchanting. Unfortunately, we hit bad weather at Cabo do Roca but it was still great. Same for Cascais.

My daughter and I really had a great time in this tour. Leo was very knowledgeable about Sintra, Pena Palace, Regaleira, Cabo Roca and Cascais and about so many things. We enjoyed the stories as well as the pastries. The lunch in Cascais in Tasca da Vila he recommended is wonderful. The food is simply great. This tour and the tour guide are highly recommended.

Guide was not good. Did not get admissions to the castles that were paid for. I am not sure what happened. But apparently the guy decided to pocket that money and not take us to the tours that we paid for. This was very disappointing. We have complained and we want our money back.

The Guides are well versed on Portugal's history and the details about the palaces. Safe air conditioned vans transported us to Sinta, Boca do Roca, Cascais, and back to Lisbon. Beautiful views everywhere.

We had the pleasure of exploring Sintra and Cascais with Leo. He is very fluent in English and explains everything clearly from the start to finish. Leo is incredibly knowledgeable about the city’s history. At every stop, he shared fascinating insights that made us appreciate the city on a much deeper level. Leo made the journey engaging and enjoyable. Thanks to him, we left with not only beautiful memories but also a richer understanding of the city’s heritage. Highly recommended for anyone who wants more than just a sightseeing trip—Leo turns it into a true learning and enjoyable adventure!
