Do you wish to hike to the tallest waterfall in all of Bosnia and Herzegovina with a height of 98 meters and have a picnic lunch with an unforgettable view? If so, this tour is perfect for you! From the starting point of the hike, there is around 5 kilometers of slightly downhill terrain which is going to Skakavac waterfall. When we reach the waterfall, we will have our picnic lunch there. After lunch, we will take a different uphill trail which is going to show us a different view of the waterfall, from the top side. That trail is approximately 3 kilometers long. After we have enjoyed the view, we will walk for another 2 kilometers on flat gravel, back to our starting point.

Skakavac waterfall is located 15 kilometres from Sarajevo, in southwest part of Ozren Mountain, southeast of the Bukovik peak, 1.532 metres above the sea level. Its height is 98 m. In 2002, Skakavac waterfall with its surroundings is declared by Sarajevo Canton as monument of nature.

My favorite part of my Sarajevo trip: a really pleasant hike to a hidden waterfall, we almost met nobody and enjoyed the silence and smell of the woods as well the superbe view. Kamer brought a very nice lunch, even a blanket to sit down at the waterfall, tea, chocolate, sandwiches and everything you could possibly wish for.

An excellent service that I would highly recommend. Kamer, our guide, was very friendly, knowledgable and flexible. He checked the weather before our hike and saw that there was a chance of rain so he offered to take us on another tour instead. The crisp air was really refreshing and it was great to be out walking in nature. The meal that was provided was really tasty. We were so happy that we booked a tour with him for the next day as well. The only problem is that I can only give it 5/5 and this was definitely a 6/5 service.
