Cape Cross
we pass and learn about The Orania Desalinization Plant, who built it and why, then past Wlotska's Backen a local Holiday resort and how it came into being. We stop and walk through the tiny lichens in a Lichen Field and learn about how they survive in these arid conditions. We will be stopping at the Zeila ship wreck and onto Henties bay where we collect a light lunch platter. The route takes us past the Gallows monument that has now been changed, and onto Cape Cross seal colony. Where Diego erected a Marble Cross. There is a walk way to go where you get real close to thousands of seals. On spending time Photographing these likeable animals we sadly have to head home.
Zeila Shipwreck
We stop on the way to Cape cross between Swakopmund and Henties Bay where the Zeila Shipwreck is located in the sea.

Great guide, not that great value for money, too expensive compared to what you get for the catamaran cruise the colonies were Great to the lunch served was good, had learned Great stuff about the lichens and the way the earth talks to the plants again tongai was great with the way he talked us through the journey and explained the different stages before getting to cape cross

The best thing that could happen was that our orginal guide fell ill (I hope he/she feels better and I am sure it is a nice person) - waiting almost an hour was worth it as we got Tongai as our guide! He was marvellous. He answered all our, mostly mine, questions readily and with great knowledge! The tour itself was great, we saw the gorgeous landscape, shipwreks, smelled and adored the seals (I have never regretted opening the car door too early more), and had a blast. I took so many pictures! The seals were adorable - and loud! But the best part was learning about the country and the culture from our guide, Tongai! If you ask, you can learn so much - also about plants, which was fascinating! It was a really recomendable experience in every way!
