Historic RailPark & Train Museum
Located between two major cities, Bowling Green Kentucky has a long history tied to the evolution of transportation in the area. The current L&N Depot was built in 1925 to replace an older station. At one time, over 20 trains per day departed the current site, providing a hub for Bowling Green's economic foundation to travelers between Louisville, KY and Nashville, TN. Within the Museum, galleries of regional and national importance have been developed for public interest of cultural, historic and socioeconomic Importance. Right behind the museum lies 450 feet of track displaying an E8 Engin, a Railroad Post office car, the Duncan Hines Diner, a 1949 Pullman diner, the towering Pine - a 1953 Pullman Sleeper, the 353 Presidential office car and more!

A stunning and in depth history of trains in the area. Wonderful visit and very informative. Spent the entire afternoon there but could have spent more time. I enjoyed reading alot of the information provided. Inexpensive and well worth a family visit. Have fun!

A small but very informational train museum. You can drive a train in a simulator and see lots of artifacts in the museum. Kids as well as adults would enjoy the train museum.

Our group of two parents and two young adult sons visited the train museum and tour during our trip to the area. The museum is restored well and tells the history of train travel. The model train display has great detail and enjoyable to view. It was an interesting peek into that history to tour the trains. Our sons would have had a different level of interest when they were young. Unfortunately, the air conditioning on 2 of the train cars was not working on the day we visited. With temperatures 90+, it was not pleasant to stand inside the cars with 10+ people, though that does give perspective for how hot it may get with the engine! The heat may also be why the video displays were not working. A suggestion for the tour guide would be to speak louder or use a microphone and stay ahead of the group to lead. We give grace to our guide as we understand she is less experienced and our group was her largest up to this point. The train museum can be part of your "planes, trains , and automobiles" trip in the area if you choose!

Damon was an excellent guide who thoroughly explained the historic train cars we toured and his personal connection to the postal train car! The museum also features wonderful history.

Decent, but quite expensive for what you get. A family of 4 was $60 and there isn't much to see beyond the guided tour of the train. That guided tour was enjoyable and informative. Beyond that, there is a model train layout and some displays about the history of railroading in the Nashville-Louisville area. You're in and out fairly quickly. My kids liked playing with the wooden train toys in the kids' area of the gift shop the most. At least half of the depot building was business offices. There are no train rides here, and the other three train cars that you can see on your own are under renovation. You cannot go inside them and there isn't much to see. This would be easier to recommend at a lower price point.

Dr. Minnix is so knowledgeable and personable. She treated us as family, not just people taking a tour. The new employee will learn a lot from her as he continues to walk through the tours with her. She knew most of the answers to my questions and those that she didn't, did her best to answer. My son loves the attention and interactions that she gave him. She is truly a gem.

The tour was excellent. The guide pointed out so many features that we never considered. Each car was different and well maintained or restored. The model train layout was great too
