Pompeii Archaeological Park
Pompeii is a vast archaeological site in southern Italy’s Campania region, near the coast of the Bay of Naples. Once a thriving and sophisticated Roman city, Pompeii was buried under meters of ash and pumice after the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D. The preserved site features excavated ruins of streets and houses that visitors can freely explore.

Lucio was a very friendly and knowledgeable guide! He did an excellent job explaining the history of Pompeii and pointing out unique aspects. He made sure we saw the most interesting parts with limited crowds. He also did a great job of keeping the group moving along while also considering a tour member who was somewhat impaired mobility. Giuseppe was also a great driver. Grazie! Highly recommend this tour company in Sorrento. It’s centrally located, professional and has stellar customer service. Also very reasonably priced.

This tour was amazing! The guides were nice, knowledgeable and accomodating. They answered all our questions. The tour is actually very uneven for those with any walking difficulties, but the guides were sure to help those who needed a rest. The tour was only one part of the park - the entire site is enormous. For the money the trip is absolutely worth it.

A nice tour, well organised with friendly English speaking tour guides. The coach was comfortable, and drop off point close to the site. Despite some awful weather we did enjoy the tour and learning about the city and seeing some incredibly well preserved building and mosaics. We managed to get lost but our guides kindly helped find us in time for our return transfer back to Sorrento.

Lulu was a great guide, gave us time for washrooms and snacks with great historical explanations of the key areas and life. Early morning was perfect, better than seeing Pompeii in the afternoon, which I had done before. Also pickup and drop off at the main square/bus depot in Sorrento made it easy to find.

Our tour guide “Lou” was personable and knowledgeable. As we traveled from Sorrento to Pompeii, she shared with us many historical, agricultural, and cultural insights about the region. Sorrento is beautiful and the terraced vineyards and olive and lemon groves fascinating. The bus is comfortable and air conditioned. We were happy to depart at 7:30 am to beat the crowds and the afternoon heat. Lou was a wealth of information regarding the culture and history of Pompeii. Seeing the many ruins, including homes, ornate tile work, ovens, streets designed for Roman carriages and entering the remains of Roman baths was amazing. A step into the past. Very worthwhile tour!

Great tour! The guide Nello was funny and nice too. I forgot the name of the other tour guide (Allesandro? He was tall) but he was great and explained Pompeii very well.
