Memorial House of Mother Teresa
The Mother Teresa Memorial House is dedicated to the Catholic saint and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Mother Teresa. It is located in her hometown Skopje, in North Macedonia, where she lived from 1910 to 1928.

Our guide Naser gave us a very thorough tour of new and old Skopje with interesting details and insights. We would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to have a more complete understanding of what has made Skopje what it is today.

5.00The tour does a good job of covering both the newer parts of Skopje and the old bazaar. It’s only a few hours, so I still had the rest of the day to keep exploring Skopje. Olivia was my guide and she did an excellent job of explaining the history and cultural significance of each site we visited. She planed the route well, so I could see the highlights.

5.00I am so glad I booked this tour for the afternoon of my arrival. Olivia was my tour guide and she met me at my hotel. She covered everything in the itinerary which gave a good orientation to Skopje. The number of monuments, memorials, historical figures, architectural styles around Skopje are overwhelming and Olivia did a fantastic job explaining everything to me. I did this tour on Easter Monday so unfortunately some of the sights we were meant to go in were closed, eg Mother Teresa’s memorial house (I went on my own the next day). We took a little break partway through the tour and enjoyed a lovely fresh orange juice in the bazaar (pomegranates are not yet in season as that was what Olivia hoped I could try). Olivia also shared some local tips with me - I managed to retrace my steps and find the restaurants she pointed out and the shop that sells jewellery with Macedonian rubies. I would highly recommend organising this walking tour to get a good overview of Skopje.

5.00This was a great half day tour which covered most of you should see in Skopje . We covered Mother Teresa museum, Macedonia Square and gate , the vegetable market and the we crossed the old ottoman bridge to the old town. Had a wonderful time with my guide Zarko whose knowledge of the history of the country and the capital was amazing . We ended the tour in a typical local restaurant where we had delicious local Macedonian lunch .
