Each adventure begins in this restored plantation house originally built in the 1700s. The Museum tells the powerful story Trace Wilson who was born into slavery on the property in 1818 and her direct descendant Emilio Wilson. You will see depictions of what life was like on a plantation and learn about the customs, traditions, lifestyle and stories that earned Sint Maarten the nickname ‘The Friendly Island.’ After a brief orientation, embark the Sky Explorer for the approximately 25-minute ride to the top of Sentry Hill, St. Maarten’s highest elevation at 1,125 feet. A series of platforms encircle the mountaintop showcasing 360-degree views of the whole island including vistas of neighboring islands Saba, St. Eustatius, St. Barts and Anguilla. When you are ready to descend simply board the Sky Explorer for the scenic trip down the mountain. Enjoy exploring the Estate and sampling St. Maarten delicacies, snacks and beverages at the Emilio’s Restaurant.

A group of six of us took the ride up on Sky Explorer. The views were amazing. We chose not to do the zip line, but had fun watching others, lol Only negative thing was check in as the wifi was not working so had to sign waivers manually, which took a wee bit longer. I would recommend the ride up for the view and have a rum punch at the top.

It was difficult figuring out how to get to the location from the ship. There appear to be several different names used by people to understand what to tell the taxi drivers. Once we arrived things were orderly, but we waited 45 minutes in line to even board the chair lift. The ride itself had beautiful views but it took over a half hour to get to the top. We didn’t anticipate the amount of time it would take so we barely had time to take some pictures, get in line for the ride down, get to the bottom and take the 20 cab ride back to the port. We did not tube or zip line.

This was a great experience. We took a taxi from the cruise port to the facility (cost was only $15 each way), was extremely easy to do. The scenery and views were gorgeous. It was a relaxing 25 minute up to the top of the mountain to see the 360-degree views. On the 25-minute ride down the mountain, the views were just as great and allowed for more photo opportunities. I highly recommend this excursion. Just be aware, that when you reach the top and get out of the lift, you still have to climb a couple of flights of stairs to get to the very top for the 360-degree view. My cousin could not climb the stairs, but even at that the landing where we got out of the lift, had great viewing platforms.

I waited 1 hr 40 minutes and was still going to have to wait another hour at least. We just left finally. Just let them keep the money. The whole place is run by teenagers. We had 1 pm pre paid reservations. We left at 3:50 pm after riding zero rides we paid for.

Even though the waiver we experience is time consuming...the experience and views are worth it! Take a pause and realize how many employees they employ....jobs! Every employee is conscious of safety and hospitality. We took the chair lifts (2) up. Took many photos ... Had a couple drinks...took the chairlifts down. Others took the 58mph zip lines down. We also stopped at the restaurant and gift shop. They are supporting a lot of workers. Cheers to them! It was easy to catch a taxi back to the cruise ship because one was just waiting out front.

Very lovely lace to visit to see the 360 view of the island. Chair lift takes you very high. If bravery enough there are zip lines to get back down from the top.

A little expensive but the view from above is superb! Upstairs in chair lift and several viewpoints upstairs. Small bar upstairs for a drink!

This is a must do excursion. The views were amazing. They even had a butterfly sanctuary on the up to the top. Price was affordable as well.

Breathtakingly beautiful views of the entire island and also the surrounding islands. The pace climbing the mountain was slow, perfect for anybody that has fear of heights. We loved it!. We were able to see everywhere, though the day was not so clear, and we still got great pictures and views.

We arrived and first had to provide all personal data including photo without privacy policy via a barcode and our mobile phone. After we had done this in 10 minutes per nose, we were allowed to pay at the ticket counter. After a nice but incompetent lady had told us three times that our credit card was not working, we drove unfinished things quite acidified to the next restaurant to pay for our food there with the supposedly non-working credit card. Aha. Conclusion: back home, we had to find out that the entrance fee was debited in full. We're still trying to get our money back today.
