The Small-Group Cu Chi Tunnel Half-day Tour was a tour not to be missed, despite the lengthy drive from the central Saigon which was an hour and a half each way. We were picked up on time at our hotel, by our excellent tour guide Nam and his driver, in a very comfortable air conditioned minivan. We stopped for one further pick up and a comfort break along the way combined with a visit to a Lacquered art studio run to support disabled war veterans. We then went on to the Cu chi tunnels where Nam took us firstly to some exhibits and then out into the forested area where we were shown the hides and tunnels which we could enter. There were many exhibits along the way including various booby traps, mannequin displays and armoury. Nam was an excellent guide, explaining how well organized, and ruthless the Viet Cong were in their defense and how the tunnels were key to their victory. It clarified for us how impossible it was for the US Army to combat against them despite superior firepower. There was also an opportunity to purchase rounds of ammunition to try out various machine guns (AK47, RPD etc.) on a weapons range. We were then driven back to our hotels. A great informative tour and well worth the long drive. Many thanks

The half-day tour to the Cu Chi tunnels was really worth it. We were seven people and our guide James already told us a lot of interesting things about Vietnam on the way out. However, the journey itself takes longer than the announced 1.5 hours, especially since a break is taken at an arts and crafts workshop. Visiting the tunnels was really exciting and - despite the serious background - fun. Much is very easy to imagine, as scenes with characters are recreated. Despite the total number of visitors, you can take a closer look and get a lot of information. The "walk" through a tunnel was impressive. A little more time there would have been good.
