What To Expect
We will pick you up early from your Cusco hotel around 05:00 am and set out on a drive through the Southeast of Cusco Valley. The drive to the trailhead at 4,326 m (14,189 ft) is 03:30 hours long. On the way we will provide you Breakfast (at the hotel you may not have option to get breakfast). We then start off on our hike, following a lovely stream. Literally herds of alpacas and llamas will immediately surprise you. In this Journey we will hike approximately 30 mins, we finally reach our destination, what we came to see the Rainbow Mountains of Palcoyo 5,020 m (16,466 ft). After getting over the shock of their beauty, you will have time to explore the area. You will have time to take pictures and soak in the environment. We will spend approximately 01 hour at the top so you will have time to see also the lovely natural Rock formation in the area. At this point, it is time to go back down. We hike downhill the way we came. The hike will be another 30 min. Our private van will be waiting for us when we return. We will embark on the 03 hours’ drive back to Cusco and drop you off at your Cusco hotel. Approximate arrival time is between 04:00 to 05:00 pm.

5.00Definitely a great experience! The trip to and from Cusco was a breeze and went by really quickly. The guide was very knowledgeable. He walked at a slower pace so we could keep up, as we weren't used to the high elevation. The guide and driver were very accommodating to stopping so we could get pictures of the gorgeous scenery. I loved the fact that we could see more than one Rainbow Mountain with fewer tourists.

5.00Judith was an awesome tour guide. She met us the night before at our hotel for a briefing of the next day's activities. She gave us blankets so we could sleep before our breakfast stop. The road on the way is quite primitive and bumpy, so be prepared for a rough ride. Seeing the green mountainside scattered with herds of alpacas was quite a sight. Judith was funny, informative and is very good at taking pictures/videos of our group at Palcoyo mountain. The view from the peak is incredible, with snow capped mountains, red valleys and rainbow mountains.
Entertaining walk and dance at 5000 meters high.
