What To Expect
On this 2.5-hour nocturnal tour, you’ll explore the island’s diverse landscapes with a local guide, discovering the unique wildlife that comes to life when the sun sets. As the day fades, the island’s nocturnal creatures emerge. With the help of your experienced guide, you’ll search for Tammar Wallabies hopping through the bush, Brush-tailed Possums scurrying along tree branches, Western Grey Kangaroos grazing under the stars.and Koalas resting on the gumtrees. For the more elusive animals, you may be lucky enough to spot Boobook Owls, Stone Curlews, or even the island’s famous Little Penguins as they waddle ashore for the night. Feeling lucky? what about an Echidna as well?

2.00The tour actually involves "following the guide on a night safari to observe the animals" and actually it is good to specify that this is done: you stay in the car and turn around the island paths waiting to see pass through the vegetation of the animals. The tour then takes place entirely by car. However in the tour carried out by us the guide realized he did not have the torches so first we turned a depot and his office and not having found them in the end we did the tour with the only torch in the guide's hand and the guests were without the torches, which in a night tour in itself makes the experience null and void. I think this is already unprofessional since the tour was booked for a long time and clearly it was not even checked to see if everything was in order. In addition, the van has tinted windows and also central seats, so observation is often made almost impossible. Very rarely did we stop to carefully spot any animals and we only got out of the car once to see a koala. To that I would add that our tour was booked for 8pm and no one informed us that the tour left at 8.30pm so we spent half an hour contacting viator to find out if we had been dropped off or not. The guide Luca you can see that he is very competent but perhaps a little particular. We did the tour with another Italian family including two children, I found it perhaps a little inappropriate that he used swear words or talked about farmers suicides without assessing with parents whether it was appropriate. Even with the other guests he showed great impatience when making remarks not in line with his point of view, being all Italian we exchanged a few words but he interrupted and monopolized the discussion. He showed himself at the end clearly intolerant of the guests so much so that when sighting the animals in a group and we reported him to stop this stopped even stopped to show us the animals. In conclusion, the tour does exactly what is written but considering that if you rented a car on kangaroo island you can do the exact same thing yourself since the animals at night are all over the island, the price paid for a drive is really out of place. If we add to that that the only thing to do on the tour was to give ourselves torches and guarantee everyone the vision of the animals you will understand that these things clearly did not happen.

5.00We had an excellent nocturnal wildlife spotting trip with Luca. We saw possums, wallabies, Roos, a koala and penguins. Luca is very knowledgeable and made it a very interesting evening. We would highly recommend as you need his keen eye to spot some of these elusive creatures.

4.00We saw lots of wildlife especially wallabies and kangaroos possums and koalas. Even aware sighting of a curlew with chick and an echidna finishing with a few Little penguins. Driver was very informative and was excellent at spotting wildlife

5.00My wife and I transited Kangaroo Island during our honeymoon across Australia in November 2024, we were particularly keen to carry out a tour in small groups to avoid the crowding effect of organized toru. We were suggested to turn to Luca for his great experience and knowledge of the island. We were delighted with our choice. Luca is extremely knowledgeable about everything related to the wildlife aspect of the island. It doesn't just "spot" animals to see, but provides important ethological details without becoming verbose or tiring. We saw a lot of animals and listened with interest to his stories about the cultural aspects and history of the island. We also greatly appreciated his astronomical knowledge so we were able to make a brief observation of the constellations visible at that time of year For us absolutely positive experience and that we would recommend to everyone

5.00Our Luca was fantastic. He knew exactly where to find the animals and was very knowledgeable about the animals and the area. We saw wallabies, kangaroo, koala, possums, penguins and echidna. We had a great evening!

5.00This tour was amazing! Luca is truly passionate about his work and the Island, and he transmitted all these emotions during the tour! We have seen lot of animals (kangaroos, wallabies, penguins), and Luca explained all about their habits and behaviors. He also also explained us something about the Island and its characteristics

5.00We spent a whole day with Luca, the 8-hour tour + the 3-hour night tour, what can I say: if you want to fully experience the island is the only trip it really deserves. It explains everything in Italian, every curiosity about the island, the animals, the food; there is really no comparison with English tours or touring the island on your own. It also takes you to places where you would never think of going or you couldn't even go alone. It was a magnificent day, eaten well with a great picnic included. We only had 2 days to do on this magnificent island and thanks to Luca we saw a lot of places and animals, discovered a lot of information we did not know and received advice for the continuation of our trip. Everything perfect!
