What To Expect
YehLiu Geopark
Located in Wanli District, New Taipei City, as one of the premier attractions in the northern coast of Taiwan, Yehliu Geopark is home to a number of unique rock formations caused by wind and sea, such as the mushroom rocks, the chessboard rock, the trace fossils and all that.
Queen's Head
The most famous rock formation is the iconic “Queen’s Head”, a mushroom rock that resembles the profile of England’s Queen Elizabeth. Every year, the “Yehliu Night Tour” features light shows, water projection, etc, attracting over ten thousands visitors flock to see the Queen’s Head illumined at night. Besides the Queen’s Head, other remarkable formations such as the Sea Candles, the Fairy Shoe, the Ginger Rocks, the Elephant Rock, the Ice Cream Rock, the Kissing Rock, and the Princess’ Head, are worth taking a look at.

5.00This tour was a lot of fun. Our guide Reina was excellent. She was informative and friendly. I am disabled, but Reina made sure I was included in all of activities. Our bus driver was excellent as well. I highly recommend this all day tour.

5.00Perfect day trip from Taipei to Pingxi area to see Shifen, Jiufen and Yehliu in one day. These are must see places and this tour allows all to be visited in one day from Taipei with the convenience of a driver and guide. Walter was a friendly, knowledgeable guide who kept an excellent schedule and ensured everyone was on track with timings, food, and toilet breaks, and we all had a great time. The Shifen waterfall was beautiful including the walk to it, with plenty of time to admire and take pictures. The sky lantern experience at Shifen old town was a highlight of my whole Taiwan trip, writing on the paper lantern and releasing it into the sky on the train tracks. Juifen had lots of great food shops and also the Spirited Away teahouse. Yehliu Geopark was something different with very interesting rock formations.

5.00This day trip from Taipei was a great break from the hustle and bustle of the big city. Shifen waterfall was beautiful, and the lantern experience in the old town might be our whole vacation’s highlight! Jiufen was quaint and fantastic. Our guide, Ruth, made the whole trip worth while. She didn’t just recite facts, she offered insight into Taiwanese culture as a whole. She kept us laughing and had fabulous recommendations on food, etc. She was an absolute gem.

Gary, our guide, was great at getting us to see the all the important things, giving us free time to explore on our own and making sure we had enough time to do everything on the list. 3.00I specifically booked this tour as it was described as ‘small group’. 18 people is not small group. Felt like a sheep being herded around and constantly waiting for others. Our guide was chaotic and constantly flustered and spent most of her time counting and recounting us. Given incorrect information about meeting point after Chiufen, causing the group to split. We did not have the full time at all the locations as described in the itinerary and more time would definitely be beneficial at Yehliu and Shifen, which were both beautiful. Pingxu is frankly a tourist trap and completely inauthentic.
