This tour leaves every Tuesday from Country Tonite Theater. As the tour leaves early in the morning, Cell Phone Photography advice and instruction is on a one-on-one basis as requested by the guest, throughout the tour.

History and photo ops abound in Cades Cove, in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. While driving up to Cades Cove, a rolling Smart Phone Photo workshop is given, and as the van makes many photo stops, your instructor will give one on one assistance to you for excellent photo results. The History and Humor of the area and the folklore associated with it, is brought to life while the tour travels the eleven-mile loop. A stop at The Little River RR and Lumber Museum for more photo ops and history is next. The best photos of the Smokies, are along The Foothills Parkway at several lookouts. Back to Sevierville for a stop at Dolly's favorite hangout, Red's Soda Fountain. A sweet finale to your tour, this stop promises a delightful treat and picture-perfect memories!

What To Expect

Cades Cove

After getting a rolling workshop for Smartphone Photography, travelers will be treated to some of the most beautiful views of The Smokies and the wildlife that abounds in The Cades Cove Loop. The tour stops at many cabins, churches and an old working grist mill. History and humor intertwine throughout the narration which includes the folklore and facts about the residents of Cades Cove.

Foothills Parkway

Started in 1939, and still not completed, The Foothills Parkway offers some of the most majestic views of The Smokies. The tour travels along the newest section of the parkway and stops at several of the lookouts offering the best photo opportunities in the area. The return trip to Pigeon Forge is through picturesque Wears Valley.

Loved this tour! Rich is a fascinating guide. Very knowledgeable and informative. Never a dull moment. Enjoyed the history of the RR museum. Cades Cove was beautiful with all the Fall colors. Lunch at the Sloppy Hog was delicious. One thing to note about this tour, in fact any tour you take with Rich, there are no time limits, whether it’s taking pics or eating lunch. Tour ended at Reds Ice Cream Shop, yummy. You will not regret any tour you take with Rich, he is awesome!

We left about 8:30 Tuesday morning & got back around 5:30. Rich was great and very informative!!! His jokes are a little…..just kidding!! Our lunch stop was amazing!! The ice cream at Reds was amazing!! I would highly recommend this tour. I’ll also be checking out their other tours the next time I’m down this way!!

We went to Cades Cove on a Tuesday morning, we were on our own in our car, in the slow season, and it was still 7-8 MPH driving through. It was very beautiful. We stopped at a number of the buildings, etc. When we stopped, we spent the time we wanted. We were a little disappointed as we saw no animals ----- UNTIL the last 1/2 mile when a mother bear and 2 cubs came out to play. That was great!! We enjoyed the trip and would do it again.

Richard did an outstanding job. He showed us the real Tennessee. We were never rushed and were encouraged to take our time while taking in the stellar views of the Smokies and to take as many photos as we could. He also gave tips for taking a better photo at several spots. We met a friend for life! Highly recommend! Thank you Richard!

What a fascinating experience! I applaud Rich for providing an outstanding tour. His extensive knowledge of the history and geography of the areas in Cades Cove, Smoky Mountains and Sevierville County overall kept the tour insightful and interesting all the way through. Along the way, Rich shares historical stories, and tells a few jokes to keep his guest engaged throughout the tour. He has a remarkable personal background that he shares as well. In addition, Rich recommends many popular entertainment venues, and restaurants in the area that you most likely wouldn’t easily find on your own. If you’re going to tour the area, this is the one to take. It is money very well spent. Thank you, Rich.

This tour included so much more then we expected. The owner Rich was our tour guide and showed us so many interesting and picturesque stops throughout the day long tour. We even saw a bear while in the national park. Our lunch stop was a cool barbeque restaurant with the best sloppy Joe sandwich. We ended the day with a walking tour of historic downtown Sevierville, TN that included a stop at Red's Ice Cream shop. We highly recommend this informative tour.

Ask Rich for suggestions on where to go other than what the ticket say, he has a wealth of knowledge of the area that he shared with everyone in the van. A great and wonderful tour and experience. Rich is a great tour guide.
