What To Expect
On This Myvatn Snowmobile tour you will explore the area of Lake Myvatn. Enjoy magnificent view of the surrounding mountain circle from the Frozen lake Mývatn With a snowmobile in you can explore the Icelandic nature during the winter months in a different way. Take an exciting adventure on our snowmobiles out on the frozen Lake Mývatn starting from our family Farm in Grímstaðir by lake Mývatn. Itinerary: You meet your guide, who will help you find helmets and overalls fitting your size. We go over all safety features you need to keep in mind and show you all the tricks about driving and operating a snowmobile. Just before we go, your guide will go over the route and how we drive in a single formation at a safe speed. Your guide will then take you on a one-hour snowmobile tour with a few stops to admire the landscape. Driving a snowmobile through a vast landscape of volcanoes and the contrast between the black lava and white snow is an experience of a lifetime.

5.00Exceptional service from a passionate and knowledgeable team that truly cares about providing a safe and unforgettable experience. We’re a family of four—two adults and two children (9 & 11 years old). Originally, we had booked a snowmobile Northern Lights safari, but on the evening of our tour, the weather took a turn, becoming too windy for a safe trip. That’s when we received a call from Anthon, who thoughtfully explained the situation and, based on his experience, advised that it wouldn’t be safe for the children to go out exploring. While we were disappointed, we truly appreciated the care and honesty. The kids were eager to get back on a snowmobile, having loved the experience in Lapland. Anthon went above and beyond to arrange a private tour for us the following day with our guide, Bear, to explore the local mountains and craters by snowmobile. Bear was fantastic—knowledgeable, experienced, and an excellent driver. He took us through all the safety checks and refreshed our snowmobile driving skills before setting off. We spent an incredible afternoon riding through the breathtaking landscapes, learning about the history, geology, and legends of the area. 5.00Super experience, best snowmobiles I’ve been on. Heated seats and accelerator and brake, making it very comfortable in the cold. Lovely guide and great fun for everyone !

5.00We had a lot of fun on the tour. After putting on warm overalls and a helmet, we were given a briefing and then we set off. We took a short break during the tour before taking a different route back. We (ages 22 - 56) would do the tour again. The Geo Travel team is very friendly and accommodating.

5.00We did many activities with them, e. g. climbing the crater, snow scooter, visiting Hverir, visiting Dettifoss with superjeeps, visiting Dimmuborgir; and all were well organized, went smoothly, and were just fun.
