Fabulous few hours spent in nature so close to a city yet so much like wilderness. Great guide who looked after us perfectly. Highly recommend this adventure

Wonderful snowshoe trip led by Lukas thru' the forest to some amazing clear views of the city at night. Finished up by a warm fire w/ some delicious warm beverage and local snack. Added treat of trying some downhill plastic sledding finished this recommended activity. Thank you Lukas and Tromso Outdoor!

The Radisson is a meeting place for lots of tours and is easy to find. There were four of us on our tour plus the guide. It can be very strenuous and the guide can adjust the route based on your fitness level. We saved $90 compared to a similar trip offered through our cruise line. This is not for young kids under 12 or anyone that might struggle with hiking 2 miles in the snow. With that being said we had an amazing time. The city park is at the top of the island so you can see both the airport side and dock sides of the main island. Amazing views at night. First timers or experience snow shoers will enjoy this. By the end of the tour we were lucky enough to see the northern lights at the end of the hike and also slid down the toboggan hill. The fire, snack and warm fruit drink were great. Our guide, Matthias was great. Snow shoes are provided but bring snow boots and lots of layers.

We had booked the evening snowshoe hike with sledges and campfire for us and the children (9 and 11 years). To our surprise, we were the only ones on the tour. After we drove to the park we put on the snowshoes and started our hike. Upon returning, the campfire was lit and the children could sledge to their heart's content. What a pleasure they had. When the northern lights also appeared, the evening was complete. We ended our holiday in Tromso in a great way!

On a cruise with Hurtigruten, we had booked this snowshoe trip through the travel agency. Our guide Sacha (?) picked us up with his minibus at the Coastal Terminal. We were 9 people. After leaving the city we parked in a parking lot on the edge of the forest where a container in which the equipment is located. A few explanations and here we go in the forest without frontal because the visibility is good. We cross and cross cross-country ski trails where locals slide. The scenery is truly splendid, resembling the clichés of these regions. We had snowfall just before we arrived. Nice view of the city. About 1h30 later, we return to the parking lot. Sacha gives us plastic mats and we go nearby down slopes flat to stomach. That was nice. Then we found ourselves around a campfire, sitting on animal skins, and Sacha offered us a hot blackcurrant soft drink and a small piece of delicious cinnamon cake. Congratulations to Sacha for His Kindness and Humor, for His Welcoming.

This was very enjoyable. After a short drive in a van we got to what looked like a big city park. We had rented the boots they offered because we wanted to make sure our feet were warm enough and they were. We snow shoed through the woods at night. Our guide gave us headlamps to see and it was just wonderful. Not too strenous but still a little hilly. We stopped a few times to look at the city lights across the bay and to watch the northern lights. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the history. Then we did some sledding down a slope and then sat by the campfire for warm drink and snacks. We're so glad we went. It was a lot of fun

This was an amazingly fun experience with a fantastic guide. It was fun! fun! fun! The snowshoeing was loads of fun and incredibly easy to pick up so great for most people. The toboganning was like being transformed back to your child hood days. It was really fun, exhilarating and pretty safe despite your knees knocking at the end. The trip flowed really well with no time to get bored and the bonfire if you got time for it was an added bonus. I would definitely recommend this trip for families and people of all ages. Snowshoeing in the park was also a very beautiful experience

My family and I had a fabulous time. It is an experience that we will all NEVER forget! To start with we were all given a pair of snow shoes and walking sticks which were really cool. We walked through a beautiful landscape with a really helpful and experienced instructor. The walk lasted an hour and a half so not so good for families with young children but our children aged 10 and 12 had great fun. After the walk we settled down beside a bonfire. We travelled during winter so we ended up doing some sledging. We all had a blast as we slid down hills of around 100 metres. We all had a sledge to ourselves. Once we had finished we all sat around the bonfire and the host provided a delicious local cake and a hot drink. A fantastic experience and would highly recommend to anyone with a sense of fun and adventure.

My partner and I booked 2 tours on Christmas day with Tromso Outdoor. Our first was with a small group for cross country skiing for beginners. Lars was our guide and was very patient, professional and fun. The tour itself was definitely worth doing especially if you're like us and have never had a chance to experience any sort of snow sports! Later that evening Mathias took us out on an evening snowshoeing trip with toboganning and bonfire. Mathias was a fun, professional and relaxed tour guide. It was definitely a fantastic way to end Christmas day in Tromso. While we were snowshoeing the beautiful bright northern lights danced above our heads. It was magical and great fun at the same time. Mathias made a warm bonfire for us towards the end of the night and we had heaps of fun together toboganning. We were lucky enough to be the only ones one the tour which made the trip even better. Thanks to the awesome guides at Tromso outdoor for a fantastic day out in the snow 😊

Dress warm in January! It was a little icy, but we had a great time with Matias. He was very fun to talk with and you could tell he loves his job. We didn't get to see the Northern Lights due to weather, but we had a lot of fun sledding and snow shoeing. Fire was nice to warm up to as well.
