Betty's Hope
Betty's Hope is a historic 17th-century sugar plantation in Antigua, established by Governor Keynell, that is now a heritage site and museum. Visitors can explore the preserved ruins of the estate, including one fully restored windmill with sails, and an interpretation center detailing Antigua's sugar industry and colonial past.

5.00Tour in open jeep over the island with some stops. You avoid the coaches and have enough time to take photos. Driver very accommodating and polite.

5.005/5 our tour guide Tyrell or tarek can’t remember but he was absolutely amazing! He literally knew everything about Antigua: the history, where everything was, & suggestions. I’m a questions person and he had an answer for each one. No one else booked so it was private and custom to us. We tried different fruits, went to the shops and had a great lunch at Roadhouse. It was well worth every penny!

5.00Great experience! Took us to a basically private beach that was gorgeous! Also had a great lunch at a local spot that was included. We really enjoyed getting to see devil’s bridge, the sugar mill, and the different fruits/seeds/etc from the rainforest. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly! Got us back to the ship with plenty of time to spare too!

5.00Took this tour back in January 2025. It is sooo worth the money!! We got lucky to have a personal tour since we were the only ones that day. Me and my bestie enjoyed all pit stops!! Tour guide was super nice! Super informative, definitely knows his way around town!! Would definitely recommend this tour!!

5.00This tour was amazing. From all of the beautiful places to the ugly truth of slavery at the sugar plantation, it was all amazing. Just being at the sugar plantation and taking in the history of it all was something I'll never forget. Our driver Terry made the trip all the better. Terry was very friendly and knowledgeable about the island. The best way to describe Terry is an old friend you never met. Thanks again Terry for the tour of your beautiful home and the amazing history lesson.

5.00‘Ricky Riccardo’ was our tour guide and he was great! He stopped a few extra times on the tour to give us a deeper insight in to local life and local landmarks as well as covering some history. The lunch stop was a great chance to try some local foods. The beach had a beach club which has a bar and restaurant (WiFi too). I would recommend taking extra towels as you have to rent (pay) for a sun lounger. Would recommend this tour to everyone!

5.00Collected from our hotel by Ricardo and from his intro we knew the trip would be brilliant. A warm sincerity and knowledge not just on history but life in Antigua made his connection to he guests wonderful. We laughed, bounced around, ate, drank and learned on this fabulous trip. The Sugar Mill was a personal fave of mine as it shows the brutal yet honest history of the equipment managed by enslaved Africans whilst also showing the resilience and power the Antiguan people have overcome. History, landscape, fun and food couples with a stop at the beach for a dip……fabulous. Tip this man at least $30 minimum……😎😎😎😎
