What To Expect
Gettysburg
Your guide will orient you to the area of East Cemetery Hill which is the location of heavy fighting during the Battle of Gettysburg before you enter the National Soldiers Orphanage Homestead. This building was used as the headquarters for General O.O. Howard during the battle and was also use as a hospital during and after the battle. After the end of the Civil War the building was turned into an orphanage for children whose fathers were lost during the American Civil War. That is where our story begins...

5.00I had an amazing time at the Orphanage! Mike was fantastic he really captured the essence of the story and gave me goosebumps during his story's of old Gettysburg, creating a fabulous story for us to picture! Thank you for sharing the children I'm glad I got to meet at least 1 even if for only a second!

5.00One of the best experiences in Gettysburg. Every tour guide has different stories and historical facts about the orphanage and time period. We had Mike and he was a phenomenal story teller and guide. We were entertained from start to end because of him.

5.00Went to the orphanage tour in October. Had Tom for a guide and he was great! He had a lot of personal stories and experiences and was very knowledgeable about the area. He used some small equipment and tried to engage the whole group. Definitely worth the cost.

5.00My daughter and I come every October since 2022. We always try something different, so we did the orphanage tour and it was amazing!! Mike was the best!!! I would definitely do it again and if you are going to do I hope you get Mike!!!

5.00Mike the undertaker was a great guide, both spooky and entertaining. Basement of Orphanage in partial darkness was spooky. He really does a great job and enjoys his work. I recommend this tour.
