Matale
The Kandy to Sigiriya day trip commences after the guests have their breakfast from their overnight hotel. The tour consists of many amazing destinations; the first destination is the Matale Hindu temple. Matale Hindu temple is named the “Muthumariamman Temple”, the name Muthumariamman is a combination of the name Muthu means Pearl, Mari means rain, and Amman means mother. The temple was built devoted to the goddess Mariamman who is believed to be the goddess of rain and fertility. Both Buddhist and Hindu people worship this temple; often the Hindu people use the wedding hall in the temple to commence their marriages. The main religious event in the temple is the chariot festival, which is celebrated in March and is a very festive event to witness.
Matale Herbal and Spice Garden
Then the tour takes you to the spice garden in Matale, spice garden is an enchanting place to wander the scented greenery and get a piece of useful knowledge about spices and their uses to enhance meals, cosmetics, and medicine.
After the spice garden, the next destinations are the Sigiriya and Pidurangala rocks. The tourist can decide in the order to visit the two destinations. Those two locations are the main destinations of your Kandy to Sigiriya Day Tour. The Sigiriya (Lion rock) is an ancient ruin of a fortress built by King Kashyapa; it was selected to be his new capital. The rock is situated near the city of Dambulla; it has a height of 180m. Halfway up king, Kashyapa built a gateway that looked like an enormous lion this structure gave this massive rock its name. After the death of the king, the palace was abandoned and was later used as a Buddhist monastery until up to the 14th Sigiriya is a UNESCO-listed world heritage site.
Following that, the next location to come is the Rangiri Dambulla Cave Temple also known as the Dambulla Golden Temple, which is a sacred pilgrim site for over 22 centuries. It is believed to be the largest preserved cave temple in Sri Lanka. There are mural paintings covering up to an area of 2100 m² and consisting of 157 status. The cave consists of five caves. The caves are built under a hanging rock about 150m tall. The cave temple is a geological wonder. In 1982, the giant 15m statue and pagoda were built after the conservation project. UNESCO listed the temple as a heritage site to protect it. This will conclude your Kandy to Sigiriya day trip with us. We will drop you off at the pickup location or your preferred location.

On the 3 day, you will go to the lovely Ella, a little village situated in the mountains of the Central Province. You could come across mountains, waterfalls, and magnificent flora as you travel into the highlands. You’ll stop at a few locations along the way, including the 109-meter-tall Ramboda Falls, Sri Lanka’s eleventh-tallest waterfall (358 ft). Then, after being transported to the Nanu Oya Railway Station, you will board the train for the most incredible journey to the stunning city of Ella. One of Sri Lanka’s most romantic rail rides is this one. A must-do activity in Sri Lanka is to take in the breathtaking views of the island’s lovely green tea estates, mountains, bridges, valleys, and lush wildness. Additionally, it’s the best way to understand Sri Lankan culture. You won’t soon forget this ascent.
Nine Arches Bridge

Amazing experience. We took a private taxi from the hotel elephant park in Pinnawala to come pick us up from the airport and that was the best thing that could happen to us in Sri Lanka. Our friend, Kanchana who was our driver made our stay so memorable. He made us discover so many things like the culture, places and food. He became part of the journey. Very meticulous about all our demands, very respectable, punctual and professional. He is one to keep. We did excursions that he recommended and no regrets. Till the end, he made the impossible become possible. We finally fed the elephants on the last day of our stay which was on my birthday and he even offered us a very nice gift for our departure. Just full of surprises.

We are friends of 12 and we had an incredible experience touring Sri Lanka with Lanka Safe Tours. We visited the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy, Dambulla Cave Temple, and Ruwanwelisaya Stupa in Anuradhapura. Lakshan, our guide, made the history come alive with his engaging stories about each temple's significance. His passion and knowledge added a special touch to our adventure, making it not just a tour but a memorable journey through Sri Lanka's rich heritage.

The trip with Lanka Safe Tours was a real highlight! We had a 5-day tour with 10 friends, and everything was perfectly organized by Lakshan. Our driver guide, Kavishan, surprised us with an impromptu tour of a local temple that we had not planned in our plan. It was a unique experience that we did not expect. The bus was spacious and well maintained. If you are planning a trip to Sri Lanka, we heartily recommend Lanka Safe Tours for their outstanding service and professionalism

Our trip with Lanka Safe Tours was just fantastic! We were a group of 7 people and spent 5 days in Sri Lanka. Lakshan coordinated everything excellently, and our driver guide, Prasanna, was outstanding. We were particularly impressed by how Prasanna took us to a hidden local market that we would never have discovered without him. The vehicle was comfortable, and we always felt safe. We highly recommend Lanka Safe Tours for an unforgettable trip to Sri Lanka!
