Saint Patrick's Cathedral

Dublin Castle
Dublin Castle is not just a castle—it’s a storybook of Ireland’s complex and layered past. Built in the early 13th century on the site of a Viking settlement, it originally served as a defensive fortification. Over the centuries, it transformed into the seat of English, and later British, rule in Ireland for over 900 years. The castle was the heart of British administration in Ireland until 1922, when it was handed over to the new Irish Free State following the signing of the Anglo-Irish Treaty. Today, it functions as a government complex, a venue for state functions, and a major tourist attraction.

5.00Our guide Nick was really great. He took his time with us and as it turned out we were the only people with him on the tour. So we really got good personalized discussions and a lot of history. Really appreciated how he adjusted his discussions to focus on my two daughters and provide some history on women in Ireland and some of the great accomplishments that have shaped the history. We had a little issue at the beginning of the tour with meeting location but that was quickly remedied and didn’t impact anything with the quality of the tour. Definitely would recommend him again or Noel that we had for one of the other tours. Both Irish natives and full of history.

5.00Marty was an excellent guide. Took us around to the three site and really showed us the city and shared the history of Dublin. He took his time to share stories and the gems of the sites. We really enjoyed learning for Marty and gaining his experience and knowledge. We would highly recommend this tour.

5.00The sites were amazing, the tour guide was truly outstanding. Marty's knowledge of history brought the whole experience to another level! I learned so much - in incredible detail- about the Book of Kells, the Long Room at Trinity, Saint Patrick's, and lots of additional information about things we passed by along the way. I highly recommend the tour. Be sure to ask for Marty if you can. ☘️

5.00My wife and I had such an amazing time, Noel greeted us as life long friends only meeting us for the first time. The tour was breathtaking, we learned so much about the history and development of Dublin, St. Patrick's Cathedral, The book of Kells, and so much more. Later that evening we found ourselves in a place Noel had recommended, and believe me that if he recommends something give it a try. I was looking at a picture, and knew exactly who the people were in this picture, what it represented, and the fate of the men in the picture. Had we not taken this tour I would have had no idea the significance of that moment, it was a good feeling. It is hard to put in words how enjoyable this tour was, and can honestly say you will not regret it. 5 stars is not enough.
