Come off the beaten path and indulge yourself with a Bushwacker, a must-try while visiting the island and stop at eateries known for serving up "must try" local foods. Savor local favorites like scrumptious rum cake, Calalloo soup, saltfish quiche and island pate. This 2.5-hour tour is led by a local guide, informative and entertaining. See the original commercial district with buildings constructed from European stone brought here as ballast. Splendid views of the harbor and explanation of the various islands' history.
Fort Christian
Authentic Danish design from 1671. Oldest structure on island in continuous use. Overlooks the harbor, protecting settlers from pirate attacks.

5.00Jane was an amazing guide. We learned so much about the history of St Thomas and the surrounding area. Jane has been on the island for more than 35 years and has her own rich life history to share. We stopped at four different spots for a small snack of local food and drink, which added up to more food than we needed!

5.00This tour gives you an opportunity to learn about the history and food from this island. Jane was very well known by the locals and people were saying hello as we walked the streets and we got to talk with owners about their island while we tried their teas/food. It was a different experience from our many other food tours but we enjoyed this experience from a true local a lot!

5.00A fabulous tour by Jane--a local who has spent 35 years on St. Thomas. Communicated historical and cultural knowledge in a fun and upbeat style (even kids enjoyed it!). The food stops were fabulous local eateries (some in beautiful old buildings). The food samples were good portions and the history and explanation of the food was fascinating. It says a lot when your guide is warmly greeted by many shop owners and people on the street while we walked. Highly recommend-- 5 star experience!!
