The only Distillery on the island on the beach! Come taste our Rums and spend the day at our Beach Club in the environs of the West Indies Rum Distillery, established in 1893 by George Stade and his brother on the pristine Brighton Beach of Barbados.

What To Expect
With the turquoise water of the Caribbean Sea as your backdrop, take a sensory expedition guided by the mixologist at the Brighton Beach Deck and Bar. Start with your Welcome cocktail and discover the history and techniques of rum production in our wall exhibit. Next, taste for yourself the diversity of styles and flavour profiles that make Barbados rum famous, as you sample four exceptional rums from the celebrated in-house Rum ranges. These specially selected rums are perfect examples of our mission at West Indies Rum Distillery: to create the world’s finest rum, on the island where rum was born. Continue to drink in the beauty of Barbados with a moment on the soft sand of Brighton Beach, to the rhythm of the gently lapping waves outside our door.

5.00Great day at Stades Very welcoming staff excellent communication Rum tasting was very informative and well presented Beach and chairs a real plus, drinks very reasonably priced as well as the food. In reality a very inexpensive beach day with chairs umbrellas washrooms and changing rooms with showers all super clean Getting there from the cruise port easy and about $5 a piece

5.00We had a wonderful day at Stade's Rum. First we sampled some fantastic rums (the coconut rum was my personal favorite). We purchased one bottle to take home with us. The beach was beautiful with soft sand and fantastic views of the sea. We were a group of 4 adults visiting on a cruise ship. We had 4 chairs and 2 umbrellas. The entry into the water was easy. We went out about 15 feet maybe and were still able to touch the bottom. The waves were gentle and rolling. We felt secure hanging out in the water. Getting out was pretty good...you just have to time it with the waves so that you do not get knocked down. There were very few people at the beach which was very nice. The bar staff was great. We had several drinks and all of them were delicious. There were nice bathrooms and a shower to rinse off the sand. Highly recommend a visit here for the rum and the beach. Staff were very nice and had a great sense of humor.

5.00We went to Barbados to celebrate my husband’s Birthday. Of course this had to include a rum distillery tour and view of the sea. We arrived to a warm organized welcome by staff at the distillery. We had a very well made rum cocktail and then joined our tour guide upstairs. We sampled five rums, two Stade’s and three Planetary rums with increasing complexity and quality. Overall a good quick event rather than a longer distillery tour which we have been to many of these. Bonus was meeting Mary the land owner and the lovely lady who has riding horses on the same property. Time well spent If you like rum and view of a beautiful beach then go.

5.00As a returning local, I enjoy trying new experiences and seeing how things have changed and grown over time. The Stade’s tour was a wonderful mix of the new and the old. A new rum offering made using a recipe that is over 100 years old, produced in a factory built in the 1800s. The staff were all brilliant, especially Atiya, who was our knowledgeable and fun-loving guide. She answered all our questions, and it was clear she prioritises sharing their history while also making guests feel part of the story. I’m very happy I went on the tour and would recommend it to both tourists and locals who want to enjoy Barbadian history and great rum.
Don’t be fooled that this is just a rum tour, there’s a somewhat private beach included

5.00This was an amazing experience! Rum tasting with history and knowledge sharing from the staff. Follow that up with Stades own beach bar and soft sand beach with umbrellas. There were 15 total people on this beach and the soft sand and calm waters made for excellent ocean time. Highly recommend!
