The only Distillery on the island on the beach! Come taste our Rums and spend the day at our Beach Club in the environs of the West Indies Rum Distillery, established in 1893 by George Stade and his brother on the pristine Brighton Beach of Barbados.
Experience our Rum Brands and indulge in Cocktails made by our Brand Bartender and partake in delightful rum-inspired bar bites and menu fave options from our Beach Club menu.

What To Expect
With the turquoise water of the Caribbean Sea as your backdrop, take a sensory expedition guided by the mixologist at the Brighton Beach Deck and Bar. Start with your Welcome cocktail and discover the history and techniques of rum production in our wall exhibit. Next, taste for yourself the diversity of styles and flavour profiles that make Barbados rum famous, as you sample four exceptional rums from the celebrated in-house Rum ranges. These specially selected rums are perfect examples of our mission at West Indies Rum Distillery: to create the world’s finest rum, on the island where rum was born. Continue to drink in the beauty of Barbados with a moment on the soft sand of Brighton Beach, to the rhythm of the gently lapping waves outside our door.

4.00The tour begins in the gift shop with a video on the history of the distillery. The tasting started a significant time after schedule as we had to wait for the guide and participants from the distillery tour. We were told this is “island time”. We had a complimentary rum punch and relaxed in a covered seating area by the beach while we waited. When it began, it was fun times, and we sampled more than promised. After the tasting, we relaxed on the beach, and made use of the bar. Water is complimentary.

5.00What a delightful day with our well informed, fun guide Asha! Clearly as passionate about the process as she is about people, Asha took us step by step through the rich history, to the present, a nd together we looked to the future of this amazing process! After the distillery tour we were invited to stay for a well equipped beach day on the grounds. Impeccably clean bathrooms, well groomed beach with beds and umbrellas well as a patio area. Be aware, the kitchen does close at 3pm so you'll want to order before then. You will leave with a reverence for the people, the saftey, the process, and the liquid. Wear long pants if you are able. Long pants are provided and required if you are in shorts or dress.

5.00We were greeted by a lovey lady named Joy. We were a bit early but was given a Rum punch and was able to use beach with beds and umbrella at No extra cost. The lady who gave us a tour and samplings of different rums was really nice and exceptionally knowledgeable, after tour we had a lovely lunch and drink then spend a hour on the beach, great value for money and have recommended friend and family .

2.00The most expensive rum you'll ever taste. Each rum (4) one sniff and sip and it's all over. Better and alot more efficient to go to a rum shack or bar. Beach fine.

5.00Made to feel welcome, told what would happen. Rum tasting very good, with great explanations. Beautiful setting. Facilities great, changing rooms, showers, bar and food available. Had a burger which was delicious. Situated right on a lovely quiet beach. I would say good value for money.
