The only Distillery on the island on the beach! Come taste our Rums and spend the day at our Beach Club in the environs of the West Indies Rum Distillery, established in 1893 by George Stade and his brother on the pristine Brighton Beach of Barbados.

What To Expect
With the turquoise water of the Caribbean Sea as your backdrop, take a sensory expedition guided by the mixologist at the Brighton Beach Deck and Bar. Start with your Welcome cocktail and discover the history and techniques of rum production in our wall exhibit. Next, taste for yourself the diversity of styles and flavour profiles that make Barbados rum famous, as you sample four exceptional rums from the celebrated in-house Rum ranges. These specially selected rums are perfect examples of our mission at West Indies Rum Distillery: to create the world’s finest rum, on the island where rum was born. Continue to drink in the beauty of Barbados with a moment on the soft sand of Brighton Beach, to the rhythm of the gently lapping waves outside our door.

5.00The staff was super friendly. The guided tour through the Destillery was very interesting and very well explained. The rum tasting was accompanied by a clear explanation of the different kind of rum. Relaxing at the beach and having lunch at the bar was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon.

2.00The most expensive rum you'll ever taste. Each rum (4) one sniff and sip and it's all over. Better and alot more efficient to go to a rum shack or bar. Beach fine.

5.00Made to feel welcome, told what would happen. Rum tasting very good, with great explanations. Beautiful setting. Facilities great, changing rooms, showers, bar and food available. Had a burger which was delicious. Situated right on a lovely quiet beach. I would say good value for money.

5.00More than I expected....a beautiful facility with a secluded private beach. I highly recommend coming early to spend the most time on the beach. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely do this again. Note: you will have to arrange your own transportation to and from the location. Note: prices are in Barbados currency. At the time, the US currency exchange was 2 to 1. So 2$US to every 1 Barbados currency.

4.00We did this day trip for my wife’s birthday and it was a lovely day. The tasting was very good, the location on the beach was great and the facilities were impressive. Back to the birthday, we noticed that in the booking process there was a free offer if it was your birthday. Unfortunately, there is no information about how this would work. It turns out that you are supposed to book one place but not the other for the birthday offer. It took some persuasion to get an agreement for a refund so we look forward to seeing that. In the UK we would never just turn up without a booking. We even have to book free events to provide numbers. They really need to make this clear or have a box to tick for a birthday visit. How difficult can that be? I should add we took proof of birth date as stipulated in the booking so that wasn’t the issue.

5.00Asha was amazing - so funny, clever friendly and knowledgeable. Your was nice and short , which was perfect for what we wanted on our port today (cruise). I don’t know a lot about rum But these were all tasty, enjoyable, and affordable

5.00An excellent tour, brief history and overview of the art of rum manufacture in Barbados, animated and energised for us by Asha, our wondeful host for the tour. Asha was very knowledgeable and entertaining. We were greeted at the start of the tour with a lovely rum punch and then sampled several different Stade's rums during the 90 minute tour experience. Afterwards there is a lovely beach and bar area to relax and enjoy the sea, sun and sand.

5.00Fabulous location and the beach club was a lovely bonus! Great staff who were both fun and very knowledgable about their products. In our tasting we learned about the different rums and their ingredients that gave the flavours of each individual rum. And how to drink or mix them.We thoroughly enjoyed our time there!

5.00We went on a quiet day and got 1:1 tour which was great. The staff were friendly and very informative about the history and rum options. We loved that you have access to the beach after the tasting and they provided umbrellas and chairs. The pina colada was amazing with the coconut rum, definitely get that !
