The tour takes you far off the beaten track as we kayak between the stunningly beautiful remote islands of Breiðafjörður (Broad Fjord) surrounded by mountains, glaciers and volcanoes.
On this personalised tour we teach clients the basic skills of kayaking before heading off in search of puffins and seals and to explore an abandoned shipwreck and learn about the fascinating history and geology of the wild and rugged Snæfellsnes peninsula. In a small group we enjoy the pristine nature in a unique and environmentally friendly way.

Kayak with the birds of Breidafjordur bay and explore some islands close to Stykkisholmur village. After a short safety briefing you will be provided with all the necessary equipment for the adventure that awaits. We set out from the picturesque old harbour where local fishermen land their catch daily. Breiðafjörður fjord is famous for its countless number of islands and incredible wildlife. On this tour we paddle close to a variety of seabirds, such as puffins and eider ducks. Round about us the occasional seal will curiously pop up to check out these new explorers. If luck is on our side we might even catch sight of the king of Iceland’s birdlife, the white-tailed eagle, soaring high above us or nesting on one of the nearby islands. Our tour also takes in the abandoned shipwreck, Thorgeir, which has lain untouched for decades. For many this is the highlight of the tour. All in all, this tour is the perfect way to explore Breiðafjörður fjord. Our groups are small and we take things at a gentle pace, suitable for beginners and experienced kayakers alike.

The beautiful house in the harbour owned by Lars is the very best home we ever stayed in. Every possible item was catered for in a warm and extremely comfortable home. Ideally situated with parking spaces available too.

I was the only one on this tour and unlike others, the guide was fine with this and I had a great time. He was great - knowledgeable about the area & the wildlife. We saw a variety of birds, jellies, and a grey seal in addition to just the beauty of the bay. Stykkisholmur is a really nice little town and kayaking there was wonderful.

Our group of seven -- ages 10 to 70 -- had a fabulous experience exploring the waters around Stykkisholmur with our guide, Stefan, for about two hours. I can't say enough nice things about Stefan: He was so knowledgeable and friendly, and he was the difference in making the tour feel fun and safe even though the wet and windy conditions weren't what we had preferred. (You can't pick the weather in Iceland!) He also took lots of photos for us, which we were so grateful for. Each of our 10-year-old twins (who both have kayaking experience) shared twin kayaks with their parents, and the rest of us were in beautiful long and narrow single sea kayaks. Highlights included stops on a bird-nesting island, pulling up alongside a shipwreck, and spotting baby seagulls. We never felt rushed, and the company's waterproof suits (which, yes, are a bit worn) definitely kept us dry and warm. Highly recommend!

Stephan was a great guide, and we just had 4 people on the tour. We saw the shipwreck and lots of birds. We were out for maybe 1:25. Check the wind forecast: you may not want to go out if winds are going to be strong. We had pretty calm conditions. The drysuits are pretty old, but generally adequate.

We did our kayak tour with Stefan. He was exceptional. First, the set up in briefing were outstanding. We were given equipment without difficulty and Stephen had a great introductory class and how to kayak. He took us out on the water and did a few drills to ensure we were comfortable, and then we went out. He actually took us across an open water to an island with puffins, which is quite rare. We had an excellent time. I can’t speak enough good things about Stephen his skill in leading the group and giving us a great trip. I would do this 1000% again.

Awesome! Tour guide Stefan was very friendly and supportive. Made really good jokes and we had a lot of fun. At first we were a little worried about if we can do this (0 experience with kayak) but Stefan knows what he is doing and we were all so happy at the end of our tour! Saw cute little seagulls in the island he took us. We also get some additional information about Iceland and what places to see next.

We did the evening trip from 8:30-10:30 pm, with Christian as our guide, on our first day in Iceland. The trip was unforgettable & he was very knowledgeable and encouraging, as our group had people of all skill levels. Would definitely recommend this tour.

Great tour. Kristján the guide is great and friendly. He goes on the tour with you and teaches you everything you need to know. This tour is a great alternative way to see the wildlife around Stykkishólmur as well as getting to see some other unique things. They have options to be in a single man kayak or a two person kayak. Me and my girlfriend had a great time here and definitely recommend it for people looking for a different kind of experience

Kristjan is an outstanding guide - knowledgeable and made the trip really fun. It was a windy day and he exercised great judgment in where we went. The winds were so strong at the end of the trip he hooked us to his kayak for 5 mins until we got to an area that was calmer. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Iceland. The kayaks were comfortable and he gave us suits to protect us from the wind. Super experience.
