Follow the course of the river between towering sandstone cliffs to the base of a large waterfall. Depending on seasonal rainfall levels, there might even be pools deep enough to swim. After a short break to change dry up and change clothes, we will then continue to Little Petra. The site, also known as Siq al-Barid (engl. the Cold Canyon), is believed to be a ‘suburb’ of Petra, and was probably meant to house traders traveling along the Silk Road. Get ready to summit Jordan’s highest peak – Jabal Umm ad-Dami. After breakfast and long jeep ride through the stunning desert landscape (approx. 1hr), we’ll reach the foot of the mountain. The hiking path is very steep and a little strenuous, but overall it’s a moderate hike: it will only take you about 2-3 hours to get to the top and back down again (depending on your level of fitness of course). Once you reach peak you will see – the stunning desert views were absolutely worth every effort! Standing at an altitude of 1854m above sea level, you gain a whole new perspective of the breathtaking landscape surrounding you. To the South, you can see across a wide mountain panorama far into Saudi Arabia, to the North you can spot Rum Village and the famous Seven Pillars of Wisdom at the horizon.

We had an amazing week in Jordan with our guide Ahlam. She was an incredible guide who was well knowledge in all the history and cultural knowledge of the area. We explored Jerash, Amman, Dana Reserve, Little Petra, Petra, Wadi Rum, and the Dead Seas. The details were well organized, the support staff super friendly and helpful. I recommend working with Experience Jordan, request Ahlam as your guide! She is amazing!

My daughter and I had a memorable experience on the six-day hike from Petra to Wadi Rum. Our guide was excellent, and we very enjoyed the company of the Bedouin support team that set up camp and provided meals. As in any trek, there were unexpected issues with weather but our guide was deftly able to revise routing to make each day exciting and special. We would recommend this journey to anyone interested in seeing Jordan.

This was my first time solo travelling and it was an absolute blast. I felt comforted by our guide's, Furat, knowledge and how he treated us. The group of 7 we had was perfect to feel heard and not just another number to a tour company. The camping experience were great, Little Petra Bedouin Camp being a particular highlight. The sights we were shown despite being the typical tourism spots of Jordan were amazing and my only wish is that I had taken a longer trip to see more of the country. Wadi Mujib was my personal favourite. All in all an experience I throughly enjoyed and would do again in a heartbeat.

We did the Summer Adventure in Jordan, and it was a trip we’ll always remember. The activities—hiking, splashing through canyons, camel rides—were so much fun and just challenging enough to leave us feeling accomplished. The places we saw were incredible (Petra and Wadi Rum being our favorites, Wadi Mujib being a highly underrated adventure) and the tour kept us moving without feeling rushed. Our guide, Furat, was fun to be around and super knowledgeable about Jordan. He also took some amazing photos for us! I don’t think he knows just how much we loved the experience, so thanks Furat :) it was all we could have hoped for in Jordan and more, and we know a lot of that is thanks to his expertise and hard work. We appreciated the great food, ample breaks, tips and tricks about culture and what to expect at each stop, and the well chosen accommodations. Honestly not much we’d change about it! We can’t thank Experience Jordan enough for a very smooth and easy booking process, great communication, a standout itinerary, and a fantastic guide to make it all happen. We absolutely loved our time here!
