What To Expect
Geyser del Tatio
Arriving at the Tatio geothermal field, located at more than 4,200 m.a.s.l., travelers will be greeted by an overwhelming landscape of plumes of steam emerging from the earth at dawn. Our bilingual guide will walk you through the different zones of active geysers, explaining the geothermal phenomena that occur in this unique zone of the planet. There will also be time to enjoy a hot breakfast outdoors, surrounded by the impressive Andes mountain range.
Vado del Rio Putana
During the return journey from the Geysers of the Tatio, we will make a short stop at the Vado del Río Putana, a scenic site where travelers can observe flamingos, Andean ducks and other highland birds in their natural habitat, with the imposing Putana volcano as a backdrop. It is a perfect time to take pictures and appreciate the biodiversity of the Chilean highlands.

5.00On March 9th, we started the Tatio Geysir tour with Carolina and Fabio as driver at 4:30am. It turned out to be one of the Highlights of our Holiday through Chile and Argentinia, both from a nature experience at this high altitude and within this absolutely clear air, as well considering the organisation and execution of the trip. Carolina explained a lot along the journey, made amazing photographs and videos involving all of the participants and even made unplanned stops on the way back to tell us about birds and the Pekunias of the area. As this was already our second trip with Andes Travel (), we can only highly recommend this! Keep going and all the best, Andrea and Erik
