What To Expect
Lake Atitlan
Departure by car or bus to e to a nearby village to start the hike
Indian Nose
Early departure: We start the adventure at 4:00 a.m., when the lake still sleeps and the sky begins to transform. A journey of approximately 45 minutes by bus or car will take us to the starting point of the hike. We will begin the hike near a place on the Indian Nose. From there, we will hike for 30 to 45 minutes, surrounded by nature, until we reach the top of the Indian Nose. At the top, you will enjoy a sky illuminated in shades of gold and orange as the sun emerges between the San Pedro, Tolimán and Atitlán volcanoes. You will have time to take spectacular pictures of the lake and the surrounding villages. All in a quiet environment, away from the noise of the city, ideal to relax and live an authentic experience in Atitlan.

5.00The Sunrise Tour in Indian Nose was one of the highlights of my time in Lake Atitlan. The pickup was smooth and well-organized, and the guide communicated clearly the day before to confirm everything. After about a 45-minute ride, we began the hike. It’s moderately challenging but manageable if you have decent fitness. The reward at the top is unforgettable. Chema was my wonderful guide, he was friendly and patient, giving me plenty of time to enjoy the view and take pictures. The small group size made it feel personal and safe. If you’re visiting Lago Atitlan area, I really recommend doing this. It’s simple, beautiful, and one of those experiences you’ll remember long after your trip.

5.00We are fit, experienced hikers, this was a very easy hike. Keep in mind that you are already at elevation, increasing elevation, so if you're accustomed to being closer to sea level, you should go slow and have frequent breaks. Chema will make sure you are breaking as much as you need. It is quite cold at the top, so to be comfortable, be sure to pack a warm hat and jacket, as you'll be sitting for a while watching the glory of a sunrise. You'll be offered hot cocoa or coffee and a roll. We were happy to pay for this excursion, as opposed to the many many other offers in San Pedro because it was just Chema, and the two of us. No others to wait for or keep up with.

5.00This was an amazing experience! Chema (José) was a wonderful guide…kind, knowledgeable, patient, and a great photographer! Be aware that it is not a super easy hike…there are many stairs and it is high, but it is worth it!

5.00We loved hiking with Chema to watch the sunrise from the Indian Nose. Chema accompanied us by adapting to our rhythm. The climb is quite difficult but it is definitely worth it because the show on top of the mountain is breathtaking. Watching the sunrise over the lake and discovering the villages from this perspective is an unforgettable experience. We came down quietly. Chema was very available and attentive. We highly recommend it.

5.00I'm a woman traveling alone and I went upstairs alone with the guide. I felt very safe. The guide was very attentive, adapting to my rhythm, proposing breaks if necessary - and even lending me his flashlight since I had forgotten mine. Upstairs he answered all my questions and then, since he didn’t need anything else, he withdrew so he could appreciate the sunrise, which was absolutely amazing. Afterwards, I was in no hurry to get down, let me decide the moment, which I appreciated a lot too. Conclusion: a very nice experience, thank you very much!
