Shirley Heights is a restored military lookout and gun battery. The Lookout is a high point (about 490 ft.) that affords a superb view of English and Falmouth Harbours, the best view in Antigua. In this fantastic place every Thursday and Sunday at sunset you will have the opportunity to attend 2 typical Caribbean concerts: the first of calypso music and the second of mixed songs interpreted in a reggae key. At the Shirley Heights bar you can taste the best cocktails in all of Antigua, including the Rum Punch. The photo you can take at sunset will be an indelible memory of your holiday and this day.

This is an overhyped festival. It’s a great venue and view. The crowd was pretty large and at least 30min standing in line for food ticket purchase. Once purchased you can go to the food vendors whenever you want and the lines are much shorter. Steel drum band to start, followed by a reggae band. Both were enjoyable. It was a fun night but it’s over hyped.

Marco was an excellent driver and guide for our visit to Shirley Heights in Antigua. He was friendly, chatty, and entertaining throughout the journey, sharing plenty of interesting stories and helpful tips about the island that made the experience even more enjoyable. When it was time to leave, a heavy rainstorm started unexpectedly, but Marco was proactive and thoughtful. He had already brought the van right up to the venue so we could get in quickly and stay as dry as possible. His great attitude, local knowledge, and attention to detail really stood out, and we would happily recommend Marco to anyone visiting Antigua.

My family and I visited Shirley Heights on our first week (Thursday) in Antigua! We were transported to and from the venue by our guide Marco who was friendly, helpful and lots of fun! He also had a very good knowledge of the area and history of the island. We had such a lovely time and particularly enjoyed the live band, food, ambience and gorgeous views 😍 Highly recommended!

Our sunset party at Shirley Heights was amazing. Our tour guide, Phoenix, picked us up exactly at the agreed time, introduced us to the other guests on the bus and us drove very safely across the island, giving us lots of highlights and facts about the history of Antigua. When we arrived at Shirley Heights, Phoenix took us to the queues for food/vouchers and gave us very good advice about one person queueing for food while the other queues for the vouchers. This saved an amazing amount of time (but still took 30+ minutes queuing!). Once we had our food and enjoyed the steel band and live performances, we had agreed with Phoenix pick up time and meeting point. Overall the whole experience was amazing. The only thing that I would mention is that we didn’t get enough time there! The agreed leaving time was right in the middle of the live performances and we didn’t really want to leave at that point, another 30 minutes would have been perfect….but I would highly recommend the tour. Special thanks to Phoenix, she was great!

Marco, who's not from Antigua, was an excellent guide. It's hilly, so you need good walking shoes. Music is great but loud. There is seating but not for the hundreds of people there so it's first come first serve. You can get some great pictures if you go in past the picnic tables right up to the edge not just up at the point and also if you go further down the hill and go around the bushes you'll see some Vantage points there to get great pictures of the sunset and the harbor and everything. Food is available but there was mixed comments about the quality of it so maybe better to eat before you go or after or bring some snacks. We had a late lunch and got back just in time for a late supper at the buffet at our hotel.

Martina (our driver) was great. We felt safe driving through the inner, streets of Antigua. Had a great time. Our guide didn’t rush us. Gave us space, time and privacy to enjoy our time at Shirley heights.

The sunset aperitif in Shirley Heights is definitely one of the experiences not to be missed when in Antigua. To us from Cicero was Marco, super friendly and helpful guy! If you are looking for a breathtaking sunset, local reggae music, a good barbecue and great company do not hesitate to book!
