Wonderful and informative tour with Marjorie. She gave us the time we needed to see the interesting sites and formations in varying light and ended the trip stopping at some of the buttes beautifully lit by the setting sun. She realted cultural stories and sung native songs for us. Great tour!!

Travis was an outstanding guide and shared his expertise with us readily. We really appreciated his Navajo culture and petroglyph information. Travis was kind and very interactive. I would recommend Travis and Tribal Tours to anyone.

Our sunset tour with Monument Valley Tribal Tours on April 16, 2026 was easily one of the highlights of our trip, and a huge part of that was our incredible guide, Travis. From the very beginning, Travis went above and beyond to make this a truly memorable experience. He didn’t just show us the iconic landscapes—he brought the valley to life by sharing the rich history and culture of the Navajo people in a deeply engaging and personal way. Learning about the Navajo way of life directly from him added a level of authenticity that you simply can’t get otherwise. What made the experience even more special were the thoughtful moments he created for us. Travis played the flute and sang a traditional song during the tour, which was incredibly peaceful and moving, especially against the backdrop of Monument Valley at sunset. It was one of those rare travel moments that stays with you long after the trip ends. His passion, knowledge, and genuine care for our experience made him the best guide we’ve ever had on any trip. If you’re visiting Monument Valley, I highly recommend booking this tour—and request Travis as your guide.

Donna, our tour guide, was truly amazing. We did the whole Southwest and this was the highlight of our trip. The colors at sunset are the best and it is less crowded.

Monument Valley Tribal Sunset Tour was made awesome for one reason…Margerie our tour guide. There was a mix up on our pick up and she went above and beyond to make our tour. We would have not had the tour we booked and waited for since January if not for her personal sacrifice. Clarify their pick up policy long before your pick up. They may not answer the phone when you need info. It happened to us. Thank you again Margerie.

Travis is a truly terrific guide. He was very knowledgeable and his playing music for us was an expected delight. The drum at sunset in the sandbox was truly a moving and spiritual experience.

Great 3-hour tour with amazing sights of Monument Valley at sunset and its back country areas that you can only access with a guide. Stunning rock formations, wonderful colors and good stories and learnings shared by our guide, the excellent Larry. *** I removed one dot because of the disastrous management of the entrance to the Navajo park area. You need a permit, which is well explained; what is NOT specified however is that the only way to get this permit is to queue at the fee station which is serviced by a very incompetent and rude individual who needed 3-4 minutes to process each car. As a result, despite arriving 30 min before the tour departure, we would have missed it hadn't we found a "creative solution" to circumvent this absolutely inefficient process.

This was all around a great experience and an amazing way to see all the key sites within Monument Valley. Going toward the end of the day, you get to see how the light shifts across the landscape as the sun starts to set. Our guide Carol was very knowledgeable and friendly. Would definitely recommend booking with Tribal tours. Note these are open air vehicles and it was quite windy the day I went. I personally loved it, but you definitely had to hold onto your hat!
