  It was very fun doing a surf lesson in Samara! My instructor Zlatan was very nice and helpful. I definitely would recommend.

  Daniel got me up first wave. Very good teacher and demonstrator. 2 others and I attended class and all had no issues. Start earlier for smaller waves and the waves get way bigger at 3:30pm -5pm

  The ocean, and surfing overall, really mean a lot to me. I've surfed most of my life, wherever I've lived, but only occasionally recently. My kids have boogie boarded many times but not surfed. I really wanted their first time surfing to be a good experience, and Tico's exceeded my expectations and hopes. I met Slathan the day prior at the surf school while I was walking around Samara, and he gave me a good feeling that they could offer some helpful lessons for my kids--something better than I could offer myself. Slathan suggested a time where tides would be most beneficial for my kids' experience level, and we planned on that. We made the reservation the morning of via Whatsapp, which was very convenient, and we arrived to Tico's to a group full of smiles. My wife and I walked to the grocery store for the beginning of their lesson, and when we came back the kids were in the water with Slathan, and they were already standing up. The pictures that Tico's offered were high-resolution and really captured the moments. Surf conditions were perfect for beginner surfers, and by the end of a 90 minute lesson, my 11- and 14-year old sons were paddling into waves and standing up. I'm so grateful for this company, and if we make it back to Samara, we'll be sure to come back to Tico's.

  We picked Ticos Surf School for our two sons based on reviews and it didn't disappoint. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. They provided challenging and fun lessons which were appropriate for their levels. They also take photos of the surfers, which were excellent. This was a highlight of our trip and I highly recommend Ticos Surf School!

  Tico’s Surf School feels like friends wanting you to get passionate about surfing. The people working there are very enthusiastic, and happy seeing you making progress. Always there for advice and support, even if one does not take any lessons. Daniel, my surfinstructor, was very patient, and explained everything thoroughly before we went into the water. He supported tremendously by correcting the position on the board, choosing the waves, and giving little push’s to make sure I could focus solely on my movements in the beginning. That way, I was able to surf shorter distances right from the start, which was such a great experience being a beginner. After the lesson, I was able to borrow the board for another 2 hours for free to continue practicing, and they were very generous, when it went on a bit longer. The second lesson I took a few days later, was at 6 am in the morning, just right after sunrise, which I loved. At some point, Daniel noticed that I was struggling and offered to stop and proceed the next day which I thought was so kind. The next session he had changed his approach in teaching. I guess every person is different in their own way and he seems to have a pretty good feeling for what one needs and took the time for this process, which I think is truly special. My plan was originally to stay in Samara for two nights only, but I extended 3 times, because I so much loved learning how to surf! 💜 Daniel definitely got me hooked, and in the process, I also learned a lot about myself. Super greatful for this experience. Thank you for that! 🌊 🙏

  The entire Tico’s crew was amazing. They gave an awesome family surf lesson, and Javier was the most patient teacher. We all got up and surfing quickly thanks to his instructions!

  Javier was the instructor who first tested my knowledge and technique on the shore. Agter that assessment we went into the ocean where he gave useful pointers and feedback. The waves were a bit small, they offered that I come back in the afternoon and do some free surfing on one of their boards. Later on the day I received some really nice pictures of me surfing.

  Slathan was a great instructor! Our boys loved him and listened to his instructions. We all had a great time. It was great to get the additional 2 hour surf board rental included for the next day (although it was a lot harder without Slathan!)

  Daniel was a great teacher. Within a short time he taught us the surf basics in a good way, so that we were able to catch some waves after. He was very patient and helpful! Not even 24 hrs after the class we received some very good quality photos of us on the board. My boyfriend was able to use the surf board some more time afterwards. They have nice sunbeds and sunshades, showers and you can let them watch your belongings! 100% recommendable
