Surf School and adventure in puerto vallarta. Tours all around the bay (pv, Mita, sayulita) with perfect waves for all different levels of experience in surfing.

One on one attention

Pick up / drop off:

We will provide pick up and drop off close to your hotel or the address that you prefer.

Free pictures!!! 3 pictures per person as a gift so you can always remember your experience with us!!!

We provide the best equipment for all levels of experience: Surf boards, boogie boards, longboards, Stand up paddle boards and umbrellas.

Comfortable rash guards to prevent chafing and avoid sun burn.

Surfers breakfast provided

-energy/nutrition bar. -seasonal fruit. -bottle of water.

Professional instructors, water sports experts and active surfers! ready to create the best experience and help you enjoy the process of learning this amazing sport.

Tour is approximately 4 hours.

What To Expect

El transporte se presenta 5 minutos antes de la hora de salida en el domicilio agendado, una vez con los clientes hacemos mención de las condiciones de el mar y de acuerdo al nivel de experiencia de los clientes se toma la decisión de la playa mas adecuada para tomar la clase. Camino a la playa les daremos una breve explicación de los pasos a seguir y precauciones a tomar para facilitar el aprendizaje y evitar accidentes. Llegando a nuestro destino el Instructor de surf encargado en turno se va a encargar de empezar la actividad con un breve Calentamiento, estiramiento para evitar alguna lesión y comenzar a practicar en la arena los pasos correspondientes para tomar tu primer ola y practicar el deporte. Luego pasamos al agua a tomar las primeras olas con absoluta supervisión y ayuda de nuestros instructores en turno. Garantizamos que el cliente podra montar sus primeras olas con facilidad y nos vamos a encargar tambien de tomar las fotos que respalden la experiencia y capturen los mejores momentos. Finalizando la leccion los instructores se encargan de recoger el equipo.

    Outstanding! My children 7 & 9 took their first surf lessons with Chris and Kalany last week. We were picked up at 8:00am sharp, they taught a clear step by step pop up technique. After the kids found their stances, into the water they went. The night before I was weary of currents and what the wave would be like. But once we saw the beach and talked more with the instructors, it became apparent the children were in PROFESSIONAL hands! After that the next few hours were spent ear to ear smiles. The wave was bigger day 2.. So were the smiles. Day 3 ... Gold Well done gentleman! Be seeing you again 👌🏄‍♂️🔥

    I’m in my mid 50’s, I tried surfing for the first time, and loved the experience. The guys are very knowledgeable and helpful, they made it a relaxed and pleasant surfing experience; they also provide transportation to the beach and back and you can expect nice conversations with good pointers on Mexican life, and food, all on reggae rhythms.

    I did two surf lessons with Okala in November, one with my parents (who are in their mid/late 50s) and one solo a few days later. Both lessons were excellent: the instructors are lovely people, skilled surfers, and have great communication skills. I applied their tips throughout the lesson and felt super comfortable by the end. My parents were also able to surf by the end, they loved the experience and really appreciated the instructors. It's also really nice how they come to pick you up (and drop you off) for the lesson, and the beach they chose is perfect for beginners to learn.

    Very accommodating! They kept very clear communication and picked us up and dropped us off at our resort! They were very kind and knowledgeable and let me ride along for $30USD since I did not want to surf. Surf location and time was amazing! They brought along waters and protein bars as well as an umbrella to keep me out of the sun. We will be back next time!

    My 7 year old niece and I are both brand new beginners at surfing. Zero prior surfing experience. And these guys got us both up on our boards within minutes of being in the water! They picked us up/dropped us off at our hotel, provided snacks/water and all the gear and answered all of my questions about surfing and the area. This small local family run business is so well organized, friendly, professional and knowledgeable. I can see why surfing is addicting and I’ll recommend surf lessons with the guys at Okala to all my friends and family who plan to visit the area!

    This was mine and husband’s first time ever surfing and it was such a great experience. Kristhian and Jonathan were so friendly and gave excellent instructions and tips! They were so professional and encouraging- always providing helpful feedback to improve while also pointing out the things we were doing right. We went to a beach in Nuevo Vallarta that was great for beginners with waves that weren’t too big and felt like a great spot to learn since the water isn’t too deep. They answered all my questions about surfing so thoroughly and you could tell they really just wanted you to have a great time, which we did! They even got some GoPro pictures and videos of us which was such a fun touch for remembering the day. The hotel pickup and drop off was smooth and right on time and they had an umbrella, rash guards, bottled water, and a couple snacks for us at the beach. If you’re looking for a place to take your first surf lesson, you can’t go wrong with Okala Surf School! Such a fun time- 12/10 recommend!

    Great family owned surfing school! Me and my dad decided to try surfing for the first time and choose okala surfing school. Right away we were contacted by Kristhian and Jonathan (very chill and knowledgeable local surfers) and scheduled the entire lesson including pick up and drop off from our hotel. The beach we surfed was in beautiful Nuevo Vallarta and the waves were perfect for beginners. Kristhian and Jonathan perfectly explains each step and guide you throughout the entire lesson. They also recommend some local restaurants to try out. We had a blast and recommend anyone looking to give surfing a try. Anyone can surf with okala surf school! 🏄‍♂️🤙🏽

    Our kids had such an amazing time surfing with all the brothers at Okala. The experience was great from beginning to end, from the minute we booked to the great pictures they delivered at the end I can't say enough about these guys. Kalany picked us up at our hotel, drove us a short way to a great beach in Nuevo Nayarit that was perfect for learning the basics. All three of the Martinez brothers were in the water with our two boys and were so friendly, kind and engaging that I know our kids will remember this day forever. They have been surfing once before in Hawaii (no shade on Hawaii or the great team there! That was awesome too) but they said this beat it hands down in terms of what they learned and how much they wanted to keep surfing. Mom and Dad didn't surf this time and we thoroughly enjoyed our time on a nice, quiet beach under a blanket with some snacks :) No stress fun. Loved it! Thanks, Okala Surf School, hasta luego.
