The degustation menu consists of six superb courses with accompanying wines by Penfolds gold selection of bin and vintage wines to accompany each course, and a full open bar. Premium table seating, sophisticated lounge entertainment and million dollar views complete the ultimate dining experience on Sydney Harbour. Sydney Harbour, the cradle of Australian history, has been renowned for its spectacular beauty since the early days, when Captain James Cook, in 1770, first discovered the safe anchorage and named it Port Jackson. Enjoy the charm of the many unspoiled foreshores, the sparkling waters, the well known landmarks such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Opera House and Fort Denison, and other sites that reflect the Australian past.

Great service, poor food, nice wines. Can’t recommend it. Window table worth the extra charge as the views of Sydney at night are great.

The ride itself provided beautiful photos from the water of all the best landmarks. The food and wine pairing dinner was delicious and well prepared. My only negative is that the service was underwhelming and the bathrooms were very dirty and some of the stalls were out of order.

This could be a perfect tour except we were on our third course before pulling away from the dock. Then had to stop at another dock to pick up a group that was not at the original pick up point. Also had a group of guest from another table that kept gathering around our table to take selfies through the window. Our waiter did not tell them to stop but another waitress told them they needed to go upstairs for pictures. So the last hour of dinner was nice.

The staff were excellent, but for an event sold as the Penfolds Gold Dinner Cruise, featuring some of their finest wines including museum wines, the ‘event’ was more like a scrum. The food was there, just, although to my great surprise my beef was cooked perfectly. That said, what was presented as a Peking duck appetiser was more quackery, than culinary…anything. The fizz was fuzzy, the Rose - ‘Max’s blend’ defies logic given Max was the Grange creator…the Chardonnay was bland, but the Cab Sav dulled my pain. As for the harbour cruise, the interior lighting robbed most opportunities to realise where we were. I could have had a meal at any one of the fabulous harbour restaurants and seen more.

coincided with Vivid Sydney. Spectacular light show. Ship's staff great. Highly recommend the trip. Spend the extra money for gold. It is well worth the money.
