The Hunter Valley Grains & Grapes Tour takes you on a delicious wine, cheese & spirits tour with lunch just a few hours north of Sydney!
What makes this tour the ultimate Hunter trip, is you have the option to also taste some local beer at a few stops OR you can keep on the wines & add some chocolate too! The Grains & Grapes has everyone’s tastes covered!
Asides from all the beautiful wines, tasty beers & hand crafted produce, Dave’s works hard to take you behind the scenes of the production houses to meet the makers & get a true sense of the region. We’ll always include a tour of a vineyard, winery or both on our tours.
We also try to only visit small family run wineries so our guests get to meet & chat with locals to really appreciate & understand what goes into what they are tasting. As we are visiting small producers, our tour vehicles are usually between 12 and 22 seats (including the driver).

What To Expect
Hunter Valley Wineries
At our first winery, your ‘Dave for the day’ will take you on a guided tour of a vineyard, winery production area or both. After you’ve learnt a little it’s time to drink a little with our first wine tasting.
Hunter Valley Wineries
Lunch is often at a winery and the second stop, but we use a number of venues. We do find a shared lunch or excellent wood fired pizzas, salads and a drink gets the conversation going! For your drink you can choose beer, wine or soft drink. Lunch and the drink are included in the tour price.

5.00We had a fantastic experience with Dave’s Tours from start to finish. The customer service was excellent—Fiona was especially helpful when we were making our booking. Before confirming, we got in touch to ask about vegetarian options, as other tours we looked at only offered a salad (not quite enough for a full day of wine tasting!). Fiona let us know they could arrange vegetarian pizzas, which was great. We actually forgot to include this request when we booked through TripAdvisor rather than directly, but Fiona spotted this and proactively emailed to confirm she’d added our dietary requirements to the booking. On the day, our driver and host, Drew, was brilliant. He made sure everything ran smoothly, including checking that our lunch met our requests. The pizzas and side salads were really good, and Drew himself was friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable. His commentary during the journey added a lot to the experience. Overall, it was a really enjoyable day out. The wine, cheese and chocolate sampling was fun. Our only small disappointment was at one of the venues, where we were expecting a flight of beers to sample. Due to supply issues, we were instead given a small glass of the same beer each, which was a bit underwhelming. That said, it didn’t take away too much from what was otherwise a great experience—we’d happily recommend Dave’s Tours!

5.00Drew, our driver and tour guide, was exceptional! He told us about the area as we drove out to Hunter Valley. Each winery was excellent! We loved the custom service of the 4 TB winery’s. Lunch was delicious. We had plenty of wood fired pizza and salad. The trip was worth every penny! Highly Recommend!

The wineries and the experience was amazing, great wines, great food and the bonus cheese and wine was delicious!! I truly recommend this experience.

5.00Great day trip with Col (Dave for the day) visiting some beautiful wineries. Lunch was amazing and loved the distillery. Col was incredibly knowledgeable giving us lots interesting info on the history of the Hunter and wine making.

5.00Had a wonderful time! Our guide (Chris) was great- talked just enough to give us an idea of the area and the history of Hunter Valley, but also gave us some nice quiet time to enjoy the sites and relax. Wine was delicious at all of the venues, very friendly staff at all locations. We visited several places for wine (and beer) and ended the day at a distillery. Distillery wasn’t our thing but if you like flavored vodkas or gin, then it’s the place for you. Van was comfortable for the trek to and from Hunter Valley. Overall enjoyed and would recommend. Was a lovely end to our trip to Australia.
