Feeling like you want to do something "off the beaten path” near el tunco area? Explore the amazing Tamanique Waterfalls just 30 minutes away from El Tunco beach. With an altitude of 700 ish meters above the sea level, Tamanique town offers incredible views, colorful walls, and crazy waterfalls.

What To Expect
Tunco Life tour agency
Most of the time we start our tours in our office located in El Tunco beach, however, if you are not in the area, free pick up is available in La Libertad area or in San Salvador city.
Tamanique Waterfalls
We drive for about 25 minutes to get to the beautiful town of Tamanique, from here we start the hike downhills. 20 minutes later we find the very first waterfalls and start jumping/swimming.

5.00I had an amazing time on the waterfall excursion. Chamba was an awesome tour guide. He was super friendly and fun, and you could tell he genuinely enjoyed sharing the country he loves with the group. The hike was tough at times, but the views and waterfalls were totally worth it. Getting to cliff jump in such beautiful scenery was an all-time experience. I would definitely go again and check out other tours Tunco Life offers!

5.00An incredible tour of the waterfalls! Not only were the pools and waterfalls beautiful and refreshing but the guide shared a captivating history of El Salvador and its people. It truly made for an amazing experience. Big tip definitely bring walking shoes and plenty of water it’s a heck of a hike down and a hell of a hike up.

5.00Had a great experience visiting these waterfalls- they were magical. The hike wasn’t too hard and Chamba kept a great pace for us. It was all worth it when you could jump in the water at the end!

5.00Wow what an experience this tour was! We had an absolute blast hiking to the waterfalls, cliff jumping, and getting to know everyone in our group including our guides Pablo & Freddy. This tour was honestly the highlight of our trip!

5.00Great hike and great guides! Paolo picked out whole group (2 families- 4 kids + 3 toddlers/babies) straight from our Hotel to the Tamanique Waterfalls where we met up with Freddy to help us with the hike. They were both great, helpful, and very friendly. Good with the kids and videoed our jumps off the waterfalls. 10/10 would recommend
