The staff are friendly. Lunch is good. We’ve got plenty of time both in the boat to the Tasman Island and at Port Arthur. Breakfast is also good.

We chose the Celebrity Cruises " destination highlights Port Arthur explorer and scenic cruise " which left from Hobart cruise terminal at around 8.45am, the bus trip was comfortable and kept interesting by our tour guide pointing out sights along the way. Once we had arrived we were given our tickets and instructions for the day, we made our way straight to the dock for a short cruise, we were treated to a recorded commentary aligning with key points of interest around the bay. The cruise was interesting but not really a deal breaker if you don't attend as that time could be better used. We then met our guide who over a short walk of the grounds pointed out and explained each building of the world UNESCO heritage listed site, recounting stories of its inhabitants grisly past he was extremely knowledgeable and engaging. At 12.30pm we were directed to a sit down lunch which we chose not to attend as we felt there was still so many more attractions to see and time was an issue. Although we did not have lunch from all accounts it was quite nice. I would highly recommend this trip although we wished we had more time then the day trip actually allocated. (arrived at 10.00am and we left at 1.30pm)

You could say this tour was a study in contrasts. We took the 3 hour tour from Port Arthur. On the plus side, we saw some superb sights and had exhilarating, very close-up encounters with humpback whales. On the downside, the trip back to the harbour was the coldest, most miserable I have been since probably the time I went winter-camping as an ill-prepared 16-year old, almost 50 years ago. Yes sure, wear every layer you own, but it just was never going to be enough. How that crew gets up every day to do this, and do it with professionalism and good cheer, is beyond me - hats off to you guys. So I’ve given it 3 out of 5, which is ‘average’, but nothing about this tour was average. And it’s not a question of money - the value is there. Looking back, I’m very glad we did it, and I’m also glad it’s over. I would do it again, but only on a good day in full-on summer.

I was a bit worried I might get bored spending the day on the cruise and at Port Arthur, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. The coastline views were absolutely mesmerising, and the three hours on the water flew by. There was also so much to explore while walking around the historic Port Arthur site. I couldn’t recommend this tour highly enough.

Great day. Bus driver Murray was very friendly and informative of the area. Dress warmly/correctly for the boat ride/sea conditions. It was an adventure and the skipper and deck hand was very knowledgeable with a little human. Port Arthur was wonderful and an eye opener about our Australian History.

The tour was well planned and organised however the tour guides were less interactive and attentive then previous tours I've been on. I had an individual vomit next to me on the boat and was only moved to another seat, not offered any cloths etc to clean up my pants or shoes.

We had an amazing day on the Tasman Island Cruises and Port Arthur Historic Site Day Tour from Hobart. The views were stunning, the cruise was exciting, and Port Arthur was full of history. What really made the day special was our driver, Paul he was friendly, funny, and full of great local knowledge. He kept everything running smoothly and made sure we were comfortable the whole time. It was a long day, but so worth it. If you’re thinking about doing this tour, I highly recommend it and hope you get Paul as your guide!

The tour was planned out very well, fast communication as well. The food provided was great, especially at Port Arthur. The staff on the boat were very helpful and friendly. It was a rainy and cloudy day when we went but still, the views of the cliffs and wildlife was amazing, definitely a "must-do" when in Tasmania.

The Tasman island cruise is worth it for sure! It gets cold on the way back, dress warm. If you're prone to seasickness, skip, but it depends on the sea conditions. We saw whales, seals, birds, and bottlenose dolphins but the highlight is just the dolomite rocks. Unbelievable
